This is an older book from Ms. Dodd, the third in the trilogy of the "Governess Brides."
Hannah Setterington has just sold her Distinguished Academy of Governesses and accepted her last assignment. She is to be a companion to an elderly lady who is the aunt of Lord Raeburn, a man who many said murdered his wife. When Hannah meets the Earl of Raeburn, she is shocked to see that he really is Dougald Pippard, a handsomly deceitful man from her past!
The plot on Ms. Dodd's book is well thought out as these two people have to face reality and come to terms with the situation at hand. The subplot is very charming in itself. Hannah not only has the elderly aunt to care for but the aunt's assortment of elderly lady friends, all who are quite outspoken and exasperating, but she loves them all. Ms. Dodd did not leave out the passion in this book and you'll find that there is plenty of that when Hannah and the Earl let their guard down.
