Rule of Rose (PlayStation 2, 2006)

Very creepy. Very creepy in a way that I've never seen a game be creepy before. If you like very creepy, get this game. The action aspect of the game is like playing resident evil with just a knife; it can be awkward and tedious at times, but not that bad. Basically this game is like resident evil except the creepy factor is higher and the gameplay itself isn't quite as good. The puzzles aren't as thoughtful, either. That having been said, I've never seen a game that gives me the crawling willies as much as this one, so let that be your criteria for deciding.

If you are looking at this review - you likely are a fan of horror games. Maybe you haven't heard of this one yet as this is not a silent something or resident whatever. This one stands alone. Very creep and a bit unusual. If you are looking for something to scare you then check this one out. A very creative plot - Think little orphan Annie on Morphine. This one is destined to become a classic I believe. If you like scary games, loved the fatal frame series, and thought that Clock Tower was poop - then this is the one you want.

the stroy is pretty good, that's the only thing I like about it. The gameplay is to slow, the fighting sucks,it glitches alllll the time. I thought that my ps2 might be glitching, So I cleaned it. but it didn't help at all and other games play fine. the game whould be much better if they spent more time making the gameplay better rather than spending all the money and time making the movie parts for it

Entertaining, unique, always something odd going on...
I love the Silent Hill series, and similar games, and I really enjoyed this game. The only thing I don't like too much is that it's a little hard to control your character during battles sometimes.
Overall a good game, worth your money :)

Is a great game and still working on it presently. Friends told me about it an looked it over and decided to buy it. Am glad I did. Wonderful game.

I originally bought Rule of Rose because I had no idea what it was other than the fact that it looked different from most RPG’s and I was intrigued by the trailer to find out exactly what this game was about. Obviously I ended up buying it, and needless to say I wasn’t disappointed with my purchase. I did have to pay more for it than I usually would for a used game but I feel the extra money was worth it.

The game play is pretty good, some people complain about the character you play as, Jennifer, walking too slowly, but it didn’t bother me. They also complain that your dog companion in the game, Brown, does most of the work for you but I would also have to disagree with that too. My only complaint is that while some of the boss battles were a bit difficult, they were beatable as long as you had found items to heal with. The ones you found for Jennifer to heal were fairly easy to find but for Brown, not so much. Luckily though when ever you went to a new story line Brown was returned to full health again.

All in all I really enjoyed this game. Its worth while to get just because of the fact that it is different, but it also has good replay value too as there are many unlockable items and costumes you can get through out the game. Most importantly, the game itself is fun to play.

I really enjoyed the different stories they had within the game. I liked that I had a side kick with me to help me through the game. I love role playing games and this one is up there. I also liked that it wasn't too difficult where I felt like ripping my hair out like with Myst.

my daughter loves this game,it was in very good condition was pleased !!!!!!!! to me its a creepy game,but my daughter,plays it for hours on end.

If you want to go and slaughter creatures all day long, find a different game.
To put it bluntly... The fighting sucks in this game ( Her weapon, hand and half her arm can go through the enemies and not hit them).

This game also has a very slow pace. If you need to be doing something every second to have fun, stay clear.

The story is very interesting and kind of twisted. I already disliked children, and this game did not help in that matter (The kids in it are EVIL)

An absolute MUST for puzzle/mystery players, that lean towards the dark side of things. Its all walking and exploring, fighting little creatures with a twisted story line..fun stuff. Silent Hill fans will like this one..

I love the fact that its in excellent condition for a used ps2 game. It was provided with reliable support.

Good gameplay. Excellent music. Bad load times. Excellent graphics. Good pacing. Below average replay value. Good story. Overall according to Ebay's rating scale (poor=1 star, below average=2 stars, average=3 stars, good=4 stars, exellent=5 stars) I give this game a 3 stars, average rating. As far as value for your dollar, I would assess this game at about $18 including shipping.

I just wish it'd come with the case, but I understand that it couldn't....haven't finished it yet but works great so far....
