Fans of Pearl Jam and your average run of the mill grunge band will enjoy this. Those of us looking for something more will be disappointed. These guys have talent but refuse to push any limits. 2 Stars.

Great albumRotting Pinata is a cool album. Typical of the early nineties sound with killer songs like "Plowed"(which is why I bought it) and "Sixteen Candles" that many people know and love even if they don't know the name of the song or even the name of the Band. The only negative is that a lot of the songs sound alike (which is true of most bands) so there's not a lot of dimension to the album.

) I bought this CD when it first came out over a decade ago. It was stolen and I had not replaced it for while. Then I heard the song "Plowed" on the radio and it reminded me how good this CD was, and how my collection was missing it. These guys have a very Social Distortion sound and define the 90's grunge movement rather well. If you like Social Distortion, Alice in Chains, The Verve Pipe, etc., you will feel the same way about Sponge. Strong, fuzzy guitars, gruff and solid vocals, and a driving rhythm section make Rotting Pinata a CD to hear again and again.
