Rosemary Gladstar's Family Herbal by Rosemary Gladstar (2001, Hardcover, Illustrated)

Wow! Awesome book that is wonderfully arranged; easy to flip through to find what you are interested in. Great recipes for cooking, beauty and health that do not look too complicated for average people to do. It covers such a wide range of topics that I think it should be a must on every home bookshelf, even if you're not into homeopathic remedies. It might save the day on a health issue you can't get resolved quickly. I live in a remote area many hours away from proper medical care. This book will surely be used by me. I have some other books I purchased prior to this one, but in regard to presentation, subject matter, scope and realism concerning the abilities and resources of laymen, they don't hold a candle to this one. I searched the internet for "best herbal book" and this was one choice that came up consistently. I had not heard of Rosemary Gladstar before, but I only recently developed an interest in herbs and essential oils due to health issues. Quite obviously from internet research, Gladstar is highly regarded in this field and the book is considered one of the staples of homeopathic medicine. After receiving it and looking it over, I agree with that assessment. If you can afford only one herbal book, I would recommend this one be chosen.
