70s influenced rockers debut is a good one...

Rolling Stone's review of this band compared them to Led Zeppelin. That's a stretch to me, but they do have a 70s influenced sound that I find extremely listenable. If you like classic rock bands from the 70s era, then I think you would enjoy Rose Hill Drive's debut CD. It will be interesting to see if they follow up with more good stuff and gain some popularity in the future.

I really feel soul comming through
Review created: 07/03/07

There is a earthy sexual influence that can only be reached organicly. The band is at one with thier music and movement as a natural groove moves thru their music. They have huge potential. We Love Rose Hill Drive

Pros:
Showdown, Cool Cody, Man On Fire, The Guru

Cons:

Rose Hill Drive had, up to this point, only released live albums and after listening to this CD it's safe to say that it lives up to expectations. Along with all the normal blues rock riffs and solos, they also do a few acoustical numbers. One that stands out particularly well is "In the Beginning", you can definitely hear the Zeppelin "Black Mountain Side" influences in that song, it's almost as if it is Jimmy Page himself had played it. The opener, Showdown, is a good straight forward rocker that hooks you right from the beginning. Most of the songs are very well put together but the song ..
