The Rope Walk by Carrie Brown (2007, Hardcover)

While reading the first few pages, I thought the author was being way too detailed and unnecessarily descriptive, but then I was drawn in and felt like I could see the house and property being described, as well as the family members. I loved the characters, Alice and Theo. The author did an excellent job of putting the reader "inside" their bodies and brains. All in all, a beautifully written book that I will remember for a long time.

The reason I decided to buy it was because I had read two other books by the same author and liked them. This is the best, though.
