Roots (DVD, 2002, 25th Anniversary Boxed Set)

Received item quickly and packed well. works perfect and is the complete and uncut series which aired the mid 70's. This is the set I have been wanting for my children and family

Very good movie. I can't believe the way the slaves were treated, or the way they were bought and sold and treated so badly. I think this may tend to bring racism back to the fore front of peoples minds and may incite anger, but it is a very good movie, that I have watched several times and wanted to add to my collection. I am caucasion and I was horrified by how African Americans or blacks were used and treated. This world has and had no place for slaves and racism. I couldn't treat an animal like that much less a human being, and that's what they were and are! For all racist out there, one day you will be in Heaven or Hell with them. God made them just as He made you. I'm sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings or stepped on anyone's toes. It's just the truth!

I was very happy with this video, I've been looking for it and had it in "Wanted Now" . What I'm not happy about is some of the things I've bought before, sellers should disclosed every thing that is wrong with what they're selling-and let the buyer decide. We are not going to be asking "Does this have any holes?, is it dirty?, is it too worn-out, ect., ect., I've gotten dirty things, worn out things that they shouln't be selling. And you can not tell by the picture, this will not show. Also, some of the shipping charges are absorbent. I sent things out too, it doesn't take $25.00 or $5.00 to send a DVD. They get too carried away with the shipping charges because they can.

Everything was excellent about this. I still haven't completely finished it, but I sure enjoy it. I have loved this movies for years, and can't wait to finish it.

I bought this DVD set for a friend as a birthday present. I cannot review the product because I can't watch it. It arrived with the case broken and one of the three DVDs missing.

We have been trying for some time to obtain a copy of the Roots collection. We haven't had a chance to review it yet, but from the looks of the DVDs, box, etc., I anticipate no problem. Ebay was the only place that had this available. We checked all stores and outlets but none were available. Thanks to EBay for the opportunity to purchase something we have been wanting. We will definately be making more purchases in the future.

This Movie was excellent! I had read the entire book, and was looking for a supplement to the book. I watched the entire saga in one day. I strongly recommend this movie to anyone who wants a realistic view of the way things were with the slave trade, and definately for someone who is trying to carry thier "roots/traditions" on to the next generation!

I bought the movie set of Roots, I had never seen it before and I am studying black history. It was excellant but on the 6th episode, it won't play. I wrote several letter to the person that I bought it from about sending me the episode, but no response. Ended up going to Amazon just to buy and pay another $20. to get it after paying $70. from the ebay seller. Truly wasn't happy about that. But still an excellant movie.

Classic TV mini-series was milestone in race relations and family history. I remember beig captivated by each episode.

This movie to me is a timeless classic..So exceptionally done..Is like traveling though time..From early africa.To early america, The old south.the civil war,The rebuilding of a country..

This movie was made from Arthur Haley's best seller. The actors did a fabulous job on it - it is fact, cruel, unjust, bitter and makes me feel ashamed of what in the name of money making, the white man did to them. It was blood money, black people had no rights, everything America stood for - The Constitution was law in the time these slavetraders were trampling on the rights of the colored people. The movie made a big impression on me, It told the true story of what these people suffered through.

I liked and disliked this story because it tells how this black family was treated and survived. I decided to buy this movie because it was a hit and it shows how blacks can turn out to be somebody in this world.

I watched this mini-series when it was aired on television and could not wait until the next episode aired, it was truely an eye opening experience and I now consider it a part of my education.
I was born in the 50's and I can tell you that it was quite a different world at that time, unfortunately at the time I think most people thought that it was just the way things should be until the 60's when it became time for change, the U.S. was in a war that we really didn't understand and there was unrest in the streets.
Anyone who wondered about the plight of people of color should watch this film to fully understand and adjust their way of thinking, it's all about being Human...

I've always like when great books are made into great movies, or shows in general, and I love this one.

Almost 10 hours of the history of the black man in this country following the lives of one family tree. A truely enlightening and moving experience.

Having read and loved the book, I was disappointed that the TV series took so many liberties with the story line and characters. However, overall it captured the essence of the drama and displacement of the African people when captured and brought into a cruel slavery in a foreign country.

i love the movie and have been wanting it along time and couldn't pass up such a great deal the pricing was great and the movie was in good shape
