Between the Knots
This non-fiction book is for anyone who loves rugs, or for anyone who lives with somebody who loves rugs. It has a fast pace and is well written. It gives information about how rugs are made and what determines the quality of a rug, all woven into a narrative of the author's travels in Iran and Afghanistan. The human story behind each rug as well as the historical events that shaped the region make even a non-ruggie, such as my partner, understand why rugs fascinate so many people.
