A large-scale reassessment of the place of women poets in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries has transformed the canon in recent years. Taking into consideration cultural, social, intellectual, and aesthetic concerns, the contributors draw together poets such as Felicia Hemans, Letitia Elizabeth Landon, Anna Barbauld, Mary Lamb, and Fanny Kemble.
