Roman Album by Kazuto Nakazawa, Shinichiro Watanabe (2007, Paperback)

First off, let me just say that I'm a bilingual Japanese American who is a huge fan of the anime series "Samurai Champloo". I do translations of SC doujinshi as well as meddle in drawing SC fan art. I was hoping to find the original Japanese language version of this publication, but couldn't find one at a reasonable price, so I settled for the English translation version.

This is a beautiful book with lots of full-color images, interviews with the creator Shinichirou Watanabe and all the head of the staff members, episode guides, storyline map, character information, interesting bits on featured musicians on the expansive soundtrack (4 CDs for a series with 26 episodes) and much much more. This reviewer's favorite is the lyrics of "Battle Cry" (the opening theme) and its Japanese translation by Shing02, the rapper himself.

I don't think no SC fan would be disappointed by this book. Highly recommended!
