The Rolling Stones - Rock and Roll Circus (DVD, 2004)

I don't know what I like or dislike about the dvd as I never got it. My experience on ebay has been that foreigners hide behind the border line, facing at worst being kicked off ebay and having to create a new seller id. Some of them use national postal systems that are second rate third world slower than can be believed (I include canada post in this category, 30 days +). Insurance doesn't help (you won't get anything, ever from foreign postal insurance (I include canada post in this category, they issue a claim number and end of story). Meanwhile the 60 day window of opportunity to file a complaint with ebay has expired. My solution to cancon and other foreign ripoffs is to buy US only, I have never been ripped off by a US seller, while being ripped off every single time by foreign sellers.

It is out of print for a while. I couldn't find it at store so I've decided go to E-bay and I found it right away for a right price. Quality of product is excellent. I enjoy to watch this DVD over and over and I highly recommend it to everybody. L.H.

If you want to peek into the past, this DVD is for you. Watching Mick Jagger display his ego is truly funny, but the best is seeing John Lennon. There is some fantastic music on this DVD, and some great performances, but mostly, it brings back the past with a vengeance for those of us who grew up during this time period. Yoko Ono is terrible, but watching others laughing at her is worth watching the show for! I wanted a piece of my past to view now and again, and I got it with this DVD.

BY PLACING THIS PIECE OF 21st CENTURY PLASTIC INTO A LITTLE ELECTRONIC GIZMO, I WAS TARNSPORTED BACK 40 YEARS, WHEN WE ALL HAD NO WRINKLES AND WE WORE CLOTHES THAT STILL DEFY DESCRIPTION. THIS DVD HAD CAPTURED THE SPIRIT OF THE TIMES. EVERYTHING SEEMED SIMPLER AND LIFE WAS NOT TO BE TAKEN TOO SERIOUS.
WE PURCHASED THIS DVD AFTER READING A REVIEW IN THE LOCAL SUNDAY PAPER AND WERE CURIOUS TO SEE IT. WE ARE GREAT ROLLING STONES FANS AND HAVE ATTENDED THE LAST THREE TOURS IN OUR AREA. THIS DVD IS DEFINATELY NOT A LETDOWN AND SHOULD BE ON THE LIST FOR VIEWING BY ANY AND ALL 'STONES' FANS. E-BAY WAS THE PLACE OF PURCHASE AND EVEN WITH SHIPPING IT WAS CHEAPER THEN PAYING FOR GAS TO THE MALL AND BUYING IN ONE OF THE MEGA-STORES.

Where else are you going to find a perfect quality video of The Who performing "A Quick One"? Where else for that matter are you going to find a perfect quality video of John Lennon performing "Yer Blues"? (Where will you find ANY video of that?) Jethro Tull kicks ass, and the Stones are at the peak of their talents. Not a perfect package: the circus convention is really lame, and Mick Jagger is a terrible host. Marianne Faithful, fine but too precious for my taste. But in the end the negatives are negligible and the positives outstanding and unique.

This is an excellent DVD that was recorded in England in 1968, but not released until the mid 1990's. If you like the Rolling Stones and have seen recent tours of this group you will find this 1968 recording featuring the vibrant Mick Jagger with the energy of his youth. Be sure to watch the bonus features on this DVD as it reveals a real time warp during the 39 years that have passed. In my opinion the Rolling Stones segment in this DVD is by far better than any of the other performers on this DVD, as the Rolling Stones were far better performers than anyone else during this period, or at least on this DVD.
Note: Seeing John Lennon was a treat that helped off set Yoko Ono's cacophony.
Post Note: I first ordered the CD version in error, as the CD looks almost identical to the DVD, but without the visuals most of the impact is lost.

The only problem had was with the mail carrier. The DVD is in perfect condition and sealed! I bought it as a gift for my boyfriend for Christmas, so I haven't gotten to watch the DVD but I'm sure he'll love it!

Price was terrific. Condition upon receipt was excellent. Delivery was prompt and efficient.
