RollerCoaster Tycoon (PC Games, 1999)

This is the best game on Earth. If you haven't bought it, buy it! Different people come to your park. You make shops and stalls and make roller coasters the way that you want them. You make all different kinds of rides. You even choose your favorite person and name him. age 9

This is probably one of the most addictive PC games I've ever played- like Computer Crack! How many amusement parks have you been to where something wasn't right? Here's your chance to create your own!
Build coasters, or use pre-made ones, or download them from the official website. Add those dinky favorites like the Merry Go Round and Ferris Wheel. Place shops and bathrooms, choose a theme and create scenery-filled areas.
Your guests may be happy 'This park is very tidy', or they may be unhappy 'I'm not paying that much for a hot dog', or they may exit a ride and puke. If your guests are happy, they spend lots of money.
If you're kind, you'll pay your employees well, create lush gardens and fun rides.If you're a bit masochistic, you can drown people or create fiery coaster crashes.
The concept and basic gameplay are fantastic for a first game. The graphics are so-so, but improve greatly throughout the series. Since you can pick up a 'gold' version which incleds two expansions for about $12, this is the cheapest crack ever.

This is a fun game, while it's not that hard, it is entertaining. Kids can play it without parents fearing it's contents and adults enjoy the challenges that each level presents.

I Absolutely LOVE Roller Coaster Tycoon. I remembered playing it when I was a teenager and I was FULLY addicted to it. I like the fact that your able to create a Roller Coaster that isn't really safe, let people get on it and then it kills the people. It's not just some kind of Fluke thing that happens, they Die!! Which is NOT really good but it's kind of amusing. And it's not that they are all Bloody or anything, that's just a cute aspect of the game.
What I like to do is build up a HUGE park, Complete the objective and then Block off the Exit. I take away all the rides and all the refreshment buildings and put only one of each of them, right next to the entrance with some footpath Right in front of the buildings and one square out and around to make a Circle that they just Wander on. it's really fun to herd them into that little area and then when they are all on like 3 squares, (I believe i've gotten it down to 2 squares)... You release them so they can leave. I just love the FLOW of people out that Front Gate. It's just absolutely beautiful.


It handles really well, it's SUPER easy to learn and when you DO learn how to play it, It's SUPER awesome and FuN!

One of my clients told me about this game and how great it was for her grandkids. I often get frustrated when my boys are simply sitting at their PCs playing games that seem to put them in a vegatative state (for hours). This game (the first version of three) requires them to create rides at an amusement park and then to make money doing it. When we received the game, I loaded it and the boys took it from there; no instruction on my part! So, if you have kids about 7 years or older, throw one of these games in the PC and watch them create and make money right before your eyes. I highly recommend these games.

I am a HUGE fan of RCT and I love the original version and all of its expansions!!! If your a beginner you can start out by taking a tutorial to learn how to play. Once you beat Forest Frontiers (1st level) your eyes are literally glued to the screen. This game features a lot of scenarios and if you beat them all you unlock Mega Park!!!!! This game features the original roller coaster like the steel coaster and wooden coaster. You can launch the steel coaster off the track and blow it up. It has lots of cool cheats you can use. You click on the info button in a guests screen and you notified about every thing he does!!! You can name the guests, put them in holes, and drown them!!! If you are a fan of roller coaster then you must buy this game.
After you beat the original version you have to get Corkscrew Follies and Loopy Landscapes. This offers new themes, music for rides, and all sorts of new exciting things. If you buy the Deluxe version then you get to build roller coasters that other fans have made. Thanks for viewing my guide!!!

I like the game since the first time I saw it. The game's graphic is good, soft, fun, attractive, cute, and nicely done. We can build a theme park as good as we want. Sometimes if you go to a real theme park, you probably would say, "This rollercoaster must be very crowded if they put it over there" or "What does this snack kiosk doing here?" or maybe "If only I was the owner, I could make this theme park the best ever" or some comments like that. Well, you can! This game allows you to make your own best theme park. This game has almost everything you could find in the real theme park. You could build an observatory tower, a most scary roller coaster, a haunted house, restaurants, kiosks, souvenir kiosks, etc. You could add fountains everywhere to make you park even more beautiful and there's a lot of sceneries and plants in the game. You must bring out your handymans to prevent guests from vomitting, put up security guards in your park, entertain your guests while waiting in the line and cheer up your guests if they are not happy, etc.

My sister, her husband, and her kids have been playing this game until now, that was after I showed them how to play, and they said that its easy to play the game and they got a lot of fun. Its a good game for a family. You can find and do a lot of things in this game. Go ahead, try it yourself, and lets see how you like the game ^-^

Fun game, challenging but not difficult. Caes dosn't say for Windows XP but it will work in XP. Only dislike i have is the sound will mess up at times, comes in loud and very distorted.

I decided to buy this game for my daughter after she told me that she loved it and had it at day care. It is a great game for kids and she enjoys it very much. I highly reccomend it !

It is a great game, I bought another one as a present for a freind. Build your own amusement park from the ground up with no lag or glitches. I beleive that the origenal roller coaster tycoon is the best thats why im trying to pass it on to as many people as possible.

Roller coaster tycoon is the sype of program that is perfect for the kid who loves the county fair and amusement parks. My 10 year old can easily spend hours designing his own park with rides, concessions, and being a tycoon. The only problem is getting him off the computer. But he sure does enjoy it!

I dont like the newer RCT because it is too graphic, for exaple 3-d sight, just not for me but the first noe is great. I t has all views without makin you dizzy.
