Rodale's Illustrated Encyclopedia of Herbs by Claire Kowalchik, Rodale Press (1987, Hardcover, Illustrated)

I liked the fact that this book is very good for the beginner, novice and expert alike, the reader is educated in herbal forklore, mythology and uses in the "modern" world. The pictures are quite useful to help the reader identify the plants. It is an excellent reference book. The only complaint I have is the small print, however not everyone is a weak eyed old geaser like myself. My grandson (age 8) had no trouble seeing, reading and understanding the sections. Now when we walk in the woods he is able to identify the plants also.

I had this book before and really liked it, lost it in a move, so I purchased it again to have in my library. In encyclopedia form, from A to Z. Great info on individual plants, great info on plant propagation ndmany projects and recipes

This book contains every herb or other botanical plant or tree that are used to make remedies, or cook with. This book contains everything about the plants and is well illistrated. It is not an unwheelady book being nice and compact but still 550 pages of up to date information. I plan to use one for myself and give one as a Xmas present to my daughter who loves to garden. I would recomend this book over most any other herb book I have ever seen (and that is a lot). I givve it 5 stars.

This book give a knowledge of anything I need to know about herbs. And I really enjoying reading this book and have my own herb book.
