Rodale's Illustrated Encyclopedia of Perennials is one of my first choices when seeking reference on perennials throughout the year. I'm constantly referring to this book for detailed plant information as well as the excellent plant photography. Popular perennials for every planting zone in the United States are covered and perhaps more importantly, varieties and cultivars within species are also discussed.
The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Perennials has an easily read format, alphabetically listing the perennials as well as offering insight into various types of flower garden design. There is always more to learn on the subject of Perennial Gardening and Rodale's Encyclopedia is certain to help you on your way. I've given this book a 5 out of 5 for its easy to use format and its depth of material on perennials and perennial gardening, no matter your experience or level of gardening expertise.
