Rockonomics by Marc Eliot (1989, Reinforced Hardcover)

I purchased the book in order to learn more about rock music. There are a number of such books available, but this is most assuredly one of the best. It not only provides aspects of rock history absent from other books on this topic, but offers information on pop music apart from rock. This book is exeptionally well-written; it organized in a coherent way rather than rambling, and is simply a joy to read.
