Rock Star (DVD, 2002)

I saw this movie at the theater and loved it! It pokes fun at the "hair band" era of the mid-80's, a time I remember well. At the same time, there is a story that is constant throughout the movie where a regular guy from the midwest finds out that what he thought he wanted (being a rock star) wasn't all it was cracked up to be, and in the end he chose to be true to himself. Both Mark Wahlberg and Jennifer Aniston were great. Mark continues to surprise me with his roles, and Jennifer was as far from "Rachel Greene" (Friends) as she could get. They both are growing well into big-screen "stars." Great date movie, especially for those of us who lived through the big-hair-band era and still know every word to Bon Jovi and Def Leppard songs! :)

I remember the look, the experience. This movie does a good job of taking you back and reliving the hair band days. (Sort of, this particular band was kind of a tamed down version at the beginning of the hairband craze). It is done in an almost documentary at times format and very believable. If you didn't grow up around this time, and wonder what teen, party life was like back in the mid 80's, Here You Go!

I bought it through ebay for convenience. I might have found it at walmart in the bargain box for less if I wanted to dig through a bunch of junk, but I doubt I would have ever found it. The price was fair, the movie was perfect and it shipped pretty quick. Definitely a keeper.

Love it movie ROCKS!!!! So I need to write more in this review as per the computer...ok here go's Again movie is very good songs are GREAT could of used more boobies in movies also a little more sex and drugs but again...its a great movie with a good casting as well. You will be happy with the story line of the movie as it comes full circle with a happy ending.....sigh Maybe for me too one day....lol

A total throwback to 80's hair metal and shows the dark side of stardom and getting what you wish for. Mark Wahlberg is almost unrecognizable. Excellent.

I recommend this movie to any one who is in to rock music or has ever been in a band. Is also good for anyone who needs a laugh.

it tells the true story of a band in the 80's and has the best actors portray the stories line. if you love rock music and backstage drama! Rockstar is the way to go. it will blow you away.

excellent movie,must see for any music lover.very inspirering. i did not listen to rock/metal before i saw this movie at all. now that is all i listen too it open my eyez to a new world of music that i never cared for. the music in the movie are rock classic to me must see!!!

Great movie, i've watched it 4 times straight! I couldn't think of a better musicians influence than this movie. This is hilarious, sad, rockin, and all other emotions into one 1.5 hour movies.

This is an awesome movie about the life of a die-hard fan and his initial fall and rise to the top, only to find out that he's giving up all that he loves for a hollow life of fame, fortune, and immorality.

love this movie after i saw it, i recorded it when it was on hbo then when i bought my first portable dvd player i wanted rockstar in a dvd so i can take it when i go on on a trip. i looked everywhere in stores no one had it then i went duh e-bay loved the prices they had from crispmovies, so thank you for having reasonable prices w/ jobs hurting & the world the way it is so thank you again deb

This movie is for those that love rock, and at one point or another dreamed of being a rock star. The movie features actual musicians from the 80's and 90's, so it is a treat just to see them perform on camera.

Talk about nostalgia!.....This movie may seem so corny to the youth of this era, but to us, it was a reminder of how our country was so anesthetized by selfishness. The acting in this film is awesome, the stage shows are extremely real and rockin' and the elements of comedy, are parts you will remember!

I love the movie! Its not scratched or anything and it came in an actual movie cause which is really really nice.

The DVD was really good despite that was a little a bit different that other Mark Wahlberg DVD's.
It was good film and I recommend to buy it.

I liked the movie when I rented it when it came out. I wanted a copy for myself. I really like the soundtrack and the movie is pretty good.

If you like Judas Priest, and know any of their history, you'll love this movie. Oh, and Jennifer Aniston looks especially hot in it too....
