Rock Band 2 (Playstation 3, 2008)

An improvement on the first game. Both are worth buying, especially since you can buy part 1 and import all your songs into Rock band 2. As to how this compares to Guitar Hero world tour, I have no clue because I haven't had a chance to play it yet.

Nothing to say in details, buy it and you won't be disapointed.
The best party game ever, and also very pleasant in solo.

I loved rockband 1 and could not wait to get Rockband 2. I was a little unsure about buying rockband 2 because I had bought many songs to add on and was nervous that I would have to buy them again. This game is fantastic all the songs i purchased automatically showed up on my list screen. The one thing I was disappointed in was that you have to create a new band and characters you cannot use the ones from rockband 1. Other than that there are so many advantages over the first it is truly a great game. For all you people that want to practice there is a practice mode with no music and you can play until you are blue in the face and it is like playing a real drum set. They say there is nothing like the original but I beg to differ Rockband 2 is much better than the first.

Pros:

-Awesome selection of songs
-Auto callibrates based on TV
-Large variety of songs

Cons:

-Some of the songs are from previous
-hit box is very small and feels a little weird
-only 4 drum pads (although I heard you can have more if you buy the right accessories)

Overall, great game. The only complaint I have with this game is it's not aesthetically made as the guitar series are and that the play is still the same whereas Guitar Hero made a few changes (like you hold down a few notes at a time while playing different notes at the same time)."

I did't think you could improve on the first game, but I was wrong! Not only is the songlist fanstatic but can also play songs from the previous game by downloading the Rock Band code. I would definitely recommend this game to any music loving gamer!

Rockband 2 has a HUGE variety of songs and you can even play all of your favorite songs from Rockband 1 also!

Bought as a Christmas gift for my son. He really enjoys playing it with his friends, brother, or just by himself.

Rockband one was already a blast, but the second one has a much better playlist, I like it better... The game itself doesn't change that much, the difference you can catch the most is the set of music available. Great Buy!

For those who loved Rock Band 1, don't miss Rock Band 2! My son and his friends play it all the time and they have lots of fun! They love it! Go for it!

best music game for ps3 available! Beats the crap out of guitar hero. Downloadable content and backwards compatibility wirh RB1 make it stand out. Gotta love the Rock Band!

Rock Band 2 is just like the first one. It is way better than Guitar hero simply because there is much more content to be had than guitar hero. Also you can get all of the songs from the first game for just a 5 dollar download.

This game has more complex situations... hiring band members, doing charity gigs, non-stop sets. The aim is to take you through the nitty gritty of bands - its pretty interesting. It goes far beyond what Rock Band 1 did. There are some great new song additions - and some total bums - what were they thinking with some of the trash? All in all, we're glad to have it. It is a family favorite.

Overall, Rock Band 2 is a fantastic game that I'd immediately recommend to anyone that enjoyed the first game, or anyone who's interested in picking this type of game up for the first time. It's got a great base song set, (about 80 tracks in all, with a code for 20 more free) but sometimes suffers from songs that seem as though they were just sort of "thrown in" as filler.
Gameplay is about what you'd expect from RB, with flashy menus that can be a bit tedious to navigate at times but that do not detract overall from the experience. My only major complaint is that the in-song screen's graphics seem a bit stretched, with numbers and text sometimes appearing a bit out of proportion.

Just as good if not better than Guitar Hero World Tour. I now own both and will keep both in the "permanent collection" forever.

What a great selection of songs!!!! Everyone will love it! The ability to play with friends makes this the perfect party game, or even a game for a rainy day. A definite buy for a definite good time!

Great game, if you like good music. The download Music option is phenomenal, although there are times when I wish they had more songs available. Nevertheless still a great, great game.

I feel that this game does not innovate on rock band 1. The MAJOR innovation is the trophy system, WHICH could have been achieve through a PSN patch. But again, WHY would a company put out a patch for their fanbase, when you can sell more copies and make more money. Patches cost money, Games MAKE money. That's the concept.

Some improvements were noted in the graphics and gameplay aspects.

It is to be noted that ROCK BAND 2 cannot be sold is some areas like Quebec, Canada because their stupid legislation tries desperately to protect the french language by forcing companies to provide FRENCH versions of games.

The Rock Band is a great game with most of poplurar music around. It a great game for not only for one person but get family together and enjoy playing together

If you like music and wish you could play in one even if you can't play an instrument, this is the game for you. Although, the game will never let you really learn how to truely play an istrument. This game has it all. You can play with your offline friends and your PSN friends as well too. There are even online challenges too every week. So if you have all the new downloadable content you can compete with other ppl.
This game has so much more to offer than Guitar Hero. Making your avatar for the game is also very fun. You get to keep all the virtual money to collect items for your avator to make it very personal. So if you are a huge rock music lover this is the game for you.
