Robocop (DVD, 2001)

I needed this one in dvd because I have the other ones in dvds. And I realy love this movie. Iwanted to collect them so I could watch them when ever. I have alot of movies in tapes and I know that one day we will not have tapes and I would not be able to watch it ever again.

This movie is the best. Half man half machine 100% badass! RoboCop changes lives. If a unicorn and a wizard had a baby and raised it only to cast one spell..that spell would turn any movie it was cast on into RoboCop. If one movie inspires more hope for the future than Obama and represents more love for the past than the Goonies, it is RoboCop. I only dislike that my TV is to small to make the actors life size. I decided to buy it because i am American and every American should own this epic tale or good over evil, revenge, and love... love for epic police brutality and manbot action.

I've heard about this film for years and thought best to avoid it as I generally don't like mean, gory films. Boy am I glad I changed my mind! Yes the film is gory and mean, but somehow its appropriate for the material and is helped by a refreshing yet wicked sense of humor. Peter Weller as the title character and Nancy Allen as his former partner, provide a likable and human heart in a film full of sharp satire and ruthless violence. This electrifying'ly entertaining, science fiction meets comic book action film is a must for any fan of both genres.

well i've looking for this movie for a while and i was going to buy it used but it was actually better that i bought new and for very good price :)

They dont make movies like this anymore! the first robocop was the best! the sequels were ok but you cant beat the original. i mean the scene when he gets shot up as a cop. you wouldnt see that in a hero type movie now adays...

Without a doubt my favorite movie. The acting is phenomenal, people playing the characters fit perfectly, special effects are excellent (especially for 1987), and the story writing is amazing (won't spoil any of it for you in this review... don't worry).

The clarity of the DVD isn't the best compared to modern movies, but it beats a degrading VHS tape any day. Since it is on DVD format it packs 5.1 surround sound in English, French, and Spanish. It also has subtitles for those languages which can be useful. The only special feature is the original theatrical trailer. Running time is 1 hour 43 minutes which feels just right.

Just a warning to anyone looking to buy this for children... it is very violent with realistic blood and a good amount of swearing.

It's an amazing buy, and you can get it extremely cheap on eBay for around $4 to $6.

Peter Weller stars as RoboCop Half Man half machine the future of law enforcement..hell yea..Weller stars as Murphy a Cop sent into the worse part of town..why?? So this would happen..Murphy gets shot nearly to pieces and is rushed to the Hospital where he dies a horrible death..only to be reborn as a cyberbot named RoboCop..the one liners delivered by RoboCop proves you don't have to be human to have a sense of humour..if you look closely you'll even see him smile a few times maybe he's more human then you think!! When RoboCop has a dream and awakens with a mission his makers scramble to stop him, but thank God they don't rather can't..what happens next is a pure delight for movie buffs and fans alike..justice is no longer sipping marguritas on a little island..justice has arrived and is back on the job thanks to RoboCop..Viewers will have fun watching RoboCop mow down the enemy and bring the main bad guy to jusice and you will be surprised at who that is or maybe you wont!! Even though this is a really gory film and it does have adult language I do recommend this for anyone over the age of 13..maybe someday we will have our own RoboCop!!

Robocop is full of action and good plot it also has Peter Weller and Nancy Allen. It is a good movie to anytime.

My husband loves it! We had went to Wal-Mart and bought Robocop 2 and Robocop 3 for $5...and the original Robocop wasn't as cheap as the others, so I told him that I would look for it on e-bay...and once again, it was one of the best ideas I've had. We saved about $7.00. Thanks so much for such great product quality and really fast shipping!!

The director of this movie said that he felt Robocop was like a new incarnation of Jesus. This is reinforced by some coincidental imagery. I'm not sure most people will see it that way on their own. But I do think if viewers watch with a keen eye, they will be somewhat awed by everything that comes in this package. The film runs you through the gamut of human emotions, without making it feel forced. And the fact that it doesn't take itself too seriously gives it more shelf life about 20 years after it was released. Watching it as a kid, I tended to miss the social commentary spiced into the fast-moving storyline. It's not exactly a kid's movie by any means, but it's exciting enough to keep almost anyone's attention. Many films like this have been made several years later with much better technology and bigger budgets. But it's not all about the money and the technology. RoboCop is a great story and message done well for its time. That is why it deserves to be watched again and again.

Movie was just what i wanted. Great buy!! I wanted it for my son that had seen part on TV once a year ago. He kept asking to see it but ofcourse it was never on any TV channel.

Robocop is one of the best characters ever created. Is he man or machine? Is the soul of Murphy still in the robot? The villain is the corporations who control the world. Very clever look into the future. Should not be passed up by any fan of sci-fi or great films. As inspiring as "Bladerunner". Great cast & special effects with an equally great story. 4.5/5
