Robo Aleste (Sega CD, 1993)

In the Oda Clan, the evil Chugoku Warlords of the west have ruled for almost a century. You are the star officer of the White Fang Ninja Force and now it’s up to you to stop the Warlords with the Robo Aleste War Machine and to avenge all the damage and death that has been done. Watch out for fire breathers, tornadoes, and double-edged Ninja blades. The warlords will stop at nothing. You get to use flash phasers, blooming flower grenades, and shuriken homing stars plus your microwave dispersal beams to hose down the warlords deadly motion-sensing electric centipedes.

If your a fan of any type of shumps then this is a must play game. it was developed by Tengen the makers of the greatest sega genesis shump M.U.S.H.A. Robo Aleste is a intense vertical shooter with a style unlike most shumps. There's alot of upgrades from your ship and the difficulty can scale to your liking. The Gameplay is much faster than musha and arguably much harder. The Levels in robo aleste are very long and very hard. My only real grip with this game is the music. The music does not come close to the music of Musha; however, thats a minor gripe but from some that might turn them off. Also the colors in robo is very plane and at times its hard to tell what is a power up and what is a enemy shot. in conclusion Robo Aleste is one of the best games from Sega's short lived Sega CD, and should be in any serious game collector's collection.

but this games rarity is why i go it
im sure that its more rare than lunar
just not as highly in demand
there are a few rare sega cd games
but some are just lame
so this is one you'd want if you actually play them

robo aleste is a flying mech shooter set in ancient japan. a unique take on alternative history. music is great. the game is very similar to MUSHA for the genesis and every bit as hard. i cant beat the first level myself but ive seen other people blaze through the game like it was nothing. all im gonna say is the game is awesome if you totaly kick ass at shooters. but if you're a casual fan of the genre this game will make you cry.
