Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (DVD, 2003, Special Edition; 2-Disc Set)

What can you say about this movie? It's totaly greatness! I remember going to the theater to see this movie. I couldn't stand not owning this movie so I bought it. When ever you want to cuddle with your love one, pop in this movie and spend over two hours on the couch watching it.

Two reasons why i bought this movie. First is because i love this movie and i wanted to have it in my collection, and best of all, it has Bryan Adams singing "Everything i do (i do it for you)" Second, i look for this movie in different stores and it was very expensive; I always get good deals in half.com, so here is where i found it; i enjoy visiting and purchasing there.

I love this movie because it is a good movie for all who watch it. There is some action and fighting in it for those who love action movie. Plus it has a love story for people who love romance. The love story is not too sappy for guys to watch. There is nothing about this movie that I dislike. All the actor and actress's did a very good job in doing this film.

I LIKE THIS MOVIE. IT IS FULL OF IMPACT ACTION AND DEVOTION TO ONE WHOS IS IN LOVE. ONE TO SEE OVER AND OVER. ITS LIKE LIKE PUTTING YOURSELF IN THE CHARACTERS.

Other than the Disney animated Robin Hood, a classic, this is the best rendering of the great adventure classic!!! I really, really love this movie!!!

A true love story for all ages. Kevin Costner steals your heart in this tale of Robin Hood while the evil Sherrif and Costner's side kick steeal the show with clever one-liners that make this a wonderful and entertaining movie for everyone.

It was a worthy attempt by Kevin Costner to retell the Robin Hood story. There were times it seemed a little too revisionist in its telling (I like Stephen Lawhead's trilogy re-telling better). Overall, I liked the movie when I saw it in the theatres. I bought this one primarily because it was an extended version of the movie (with additional footage added in) and it was a 2-disc set.

It was interesting. It makes a Moor (a Muslim) a sympathetic character, the friar a buffoon, and the 'head priest' a corrupt official. The Moor seemed to have some wisdom beyond his time, but it was still fun watching how Robin and his men reacted to the advanced knowledge of the sciences that the Moors did have at the time.

I thought what they did with Will Scarlet was also an interesting twist. It reminded me of what they did in the most recent movie version of 'The Count of Monte Christo.'

Kevin Costner's inability to maintain an English accent was hilarious. There are some scenes where it seems like he goes back and forth with his accents; it is rather humorous. Morgan Freeman does an awesome job portraying the dignity and loyalty of the Moor's friendship with Robin. The sherriff was definitely over the top, and some of his comments comparing Christianity with the Celts seemed more a Hollywood statement than the general belief(s) of the time. They made a lot of changes in that several of the characters are now related to each other in varying degrees of kinship; that was an interesting twist.

Overall, an enjoyable movie. Not Oscar-material (in my view), but still good.

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves is a great rendition of the tale of Robin Hood. The actors cast in this, spot on. Their performances are amazing. Never has this tale seemed to come alive with such passion on the screen. This is a recommended must see for every person, at least once in their life.

i bought this movie as gift for my friend to give to his wife. he told me he could not find it anywhere. so i found it here and bought it. plays excellent, great but. came very quick. my friend says his wife loves it. thanks very much

I love this movie. It has romance and action. I bought this movie because the Bryan Adams song in it was my wedding song. Plus I really love the movie.

Kevin Costner is great in this movie. I'm not especially fond of this time in history but this movie has a great cast and it's just a great action filled story!

A classic movie, many versions produced and remade multiple times throughout the years. All good, but just not great! ............UNTILL NOW ! A must see, for the entire family! A fun, adventurous, action packed modern twist of a wonderfull story. A must see for fans of Kevin Costner, Morgan Freeman, Christian Slater, Alan Rickman and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio. Guaranteed you will want to watch over and over again. As for being a 2-disc special edition extended version......yep yep, lots of extra goodies to enjoy!

This is a good family movie. Its loaded with stars and just fun. The story line follows the classic and adds some new twists. Treat yourself to this movie and laugh

I have always loved this movie. My wife and I decided that it was missing from our collection and when I saw that there was a special edition out I went looking for it. There are a lot for sale, all the way up to $30. Keep looking on Ebay and there will be one for under $20, like mine! I especially like the additional scenes with the sherrif of nottingham. Good sound and picture for home theater systems.

It's a movie that I saw back in HS in the theater. My wife has never seen it all the way though, just bits and pieces (she is 7 years younger) and has been talking about it forever. She is a movie nut and loves dvd's with bonus features, making of and all that mess, so she will love this version of it. I didn't even knew it existed. Almost everyone has seen this movie so there isn't much point to a review. We all know the story. Dude goes to crusades, escapes, comes home and everything has gone to hell so to speak. Dude fights back, gets the girl and it all ends happily ever after. Only difference is this is a whole lot better than the Disney version. :)

Aside from Kevin Costner's accent, I like this movie and find it worth owning on DVD, at least this version. With the first DVD that came out, you had to turn it over in the middle of the movie! I remember buying that movie at the store and the clerk warning me not to buy it. I bought it and regretted doing so. I'm glad that I found the Special Edition DVD because it's a much better value!

My wife loves Prince of Theives, so I decided to buy the new extended version for her. I liked the inserted scenes, a few of which added to the intrigue of the film and answered my questions about a few details. However, I'm not sure if it's my personal DVD or maybe the entire release, but the sound isn't very good. The music and sound effects are good, but the dialogue is hard to hear, and I have to turn up the volume.
All in all, I like the extended version.

I love the movie, I have been a Robin Hood fan for a long time, worth the watch, I bought it so that I could watch the movie when ever I wanted to and not have to rent it a lot
