Definately beyond in a wonderful way

Robben Ford's style is amazing and fluid and seems very technical. The scales intertwine in chord progressions. It's hard to see where his fingers are but, if you listen to the style and mimic it you can add to your arsonal of sounds.
I bought it to learn something new. I bore myself when I'm not trying to pick up something fresh.

) Those of us who are self-taught and learned without reading music will appreciate this DVD. Robben Ford give you the changes and scales (the book included is invaluable) to do these 40's-50's style jazz chord blues songs. Nice for a middle level blues player making the transition to more chromatic playing (not for the novice). His jams are great but remember this is mostly ear and rote learning DVD. No true theory is given or a direction to continue the learning process. This is the only weak point in his lesson.
