  Great insight
Review created: 01/17/09

Great details as to why the man is so driven.
For being so transient in his early years he seems to have been the
winner. Abusive father co-dependent mum.
Obsessive to not be like his Father but you can se his father in him as he
trains chefs everywhere.

  Great book!

Some people don't like Gordon Ramsay because of his aggressive ways and blunt choice of words. I think he is brutally honest in this book and on TV, says what's on his mind and some people just don't want to hear the truth. Great book and well written. Gordon has taken a not so pleasant childhood and become one of the top chef's in the world. I admire this man and the book shows his passion for his work and life and his compassion for others.

Gordon is a survivor of the fittest kind!

For the most part, I enjoyed this book. Gordon Ramsey has survived a horrid upbringing, literally worked his way to the top and has excelled at what he loves. He is surely to be admired.
I didn't feel the book itself was the easiest to read or the best written, but the story behind it is amazing.
Any fan of the TV series Hell's Kitchen,or Kitchen Nightmares, or even anyone aspiring to become a world class chef should definitely read this book, so you'll know the story behind the man who has become a culinary legend.
