The Road Warrior is the follow-up to Mad Max. It is set in a post apocalyptic Australia. Fuel is scarce and people are willing to kill for it. A settlement of survivors has control of a refinery that a desperate, murderous gang wants and will do anything to get. Max happens upon the settlement and offers to assist the people inside. What happens next is one of the greatest car chase scenes in history. This movie also has a killer musical score that complements all of the action. Best viewed on a flat screen tv with a high end surround sound system. The Road Warrior promises to please. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

  Mad Max Road Warrior

Great sequel to the original 'Mad Max'. Max is broken after the death of his wife and child but finds there is enough humanity left in him to help others escape the madness that rules the his world. Mel Gibson brings a worldly weariness to his role that is amazing considering how young he was when the movie was made. For all Mel Gibson fans, the 'Mad Max' trilogy is a must see.

Not as good as Mad Max but, a keeper. Apocalyptic tune of what we all don't want to happen. Continuation of Mad Max and the bad things that can happen.

I've seen this movie before. It takes place in a world that has crumbled after it ran out of gasoline, and what I believe is our future if we continue our rampant use of petroleum.

First off, Mel Gibson...what more could you ask for? Post apocalyptic gangsters, car chases, stuff blowing up, all in Australian accents. Always a good watch.

  It's all been said before

What else is there to say about Road Warrior that hasn't already been said. Surprisingly enough... I was in the store the other day and there was a copy of Mad Max on sale at the checkout. I briefly mentioned it as being a good movie to the series of The Road Warrior. The girl had seen Mad Max but didn't know that the Road Warrior movie existed. I then proceeded to tell her that it was a must see if you enjoyed the Mad Max flick. She seemed quite enthused to see it as soon as she could and asked a few questions about it. I summed it up as "The best of the Mad Max series". I know there are fans out there that think that the 1st one is the best but I guess everyone has there favorites. Kinda like the Blade Runner movie. Some people like it with the comentary and some don't. At any rate if you haven't seen this movie and you're a fan of Mad Max then you must pick up a copy of it. You'll have to decide which on you think is the best........

  Classic Mel Gibson
Review created: 02/01/08
by:

The story dwells around a man who lost his child and wife during a gas shortage in the future. Outlaws run across the country killing and taking whatever they wish.

Not a lot of special effects but good acting and lots of destruction!

The Road Warrior DVD was reasonable priced. It was shipped in good time and arrived in good condition. The only problem was that there was a slight rip on the front cover but I believe that it was noted in the description so I knew about it.

  Mel Gibson as ROAD WARRIOR!!
Review created: 03/10/07

This movie, considered prophetic by some, annoyingly violent by others, has a taste of the possible anit-utopian future when fossil fuels become unavailable. A policeman and his family are backbone of story, as his family is killed, and he becomes a vengeful Road Warrior to avenge their deaths. The gang that killed his family becomes target of his wrath as he single-handedly takes on, and takes out, the cycle gang.
I bought this to have a more complete Mel Gibson collection.
You might find this too violent, or too frank a picture of the future, either way, it is a classic, as Mel's first film.

  The passion of Road Warrior
Review created: 11/13/06

This classy piece of Aussie cinema will remind you of why you wanted a V8 and a sawed of shotgun in the first place. Awesome post apocalyptic road battles, sweet ass Mohawks and more leather than a bicker rally. If you think you have seen this movie on TV you haven’t seen anything. Watch Mel shoot, stab, and trick his way to the top of a world dieing for a drink of that sweet black nectar of life. Don’t forget the cheek less chaps. Goodday.

A Must for Gibson and Old School Pro-Wrestling Fans
Review created: 11/03/06

For all fans of Mel Gibson, this is a must. This was the movie tha put him "over the top" with American fans. While some fans of "The Passion of the Christ" may disapprove, it's still a good movie. Besides, it gives more religious people and incentive to ask "end time" questions.
For fans of pre-WWE wrestling (territorial days), the Lord Humongous (Kjell Nelson) character will appeal to you. In the 1980's, several wrestlers played the character in the south (the most famous being former WWE Champ Sid Vicious). With the exception of talking, wrestlers played the character the same; as was played in the movie. Either way, two sets of fans mean two sets of customers. That means more sales for DVD sellers.

I grew up in the 80's that's why I love this title it's the best one out of the three Mad Max movie series.(Mad Max,The Road Warrior, and Mad Max beyond thunder dome.)I had this on VHS and finally Rebought it on DVD.I Bought this because I love movies from 1976-1990 (my childhood). If you like apocalyptic movies or Think gas prices are a joke you might like this as it's based on a fight for fuel and to survive. Not mention these were some of Mel Gibson's first movies.
