Best Kenton/Four Freshmen Ever

I bought it because it is nearly extinct in its CD form. The Vinyl has a scratch in the pressing master. The Rendition of September Song is the single best recording of the single best arrangement of the best song of its genre ever written performed by the Big Band Ballad sound of master conductor Stan Kenton, arranged by "He, who walks with Gabriel" -- Pete Rugolo, the sultry, rich voice of June Christy, and the still-unequaled vocal blend of the Four Freshmen. One of the songs is intended as a joke, and comes out silly instead, but the blend of the Four Freshmen, June Christy, Stan Kentons Band, and the timeless arrangements of Pete Ruggolo make this a must worth recreating by SOMEONE, PLEASE SOMEONE, who has access to the master tapes and permission to do so. This is my SECOND copy of this I've bought off eBay; the first I bought on 2/6/06 for $67.00. Both are worth it!!! If you like cool, melodic Jazz, with an easily recognizable melody and tight (one-octave) vocal blend harmony then this is REALLY the only CD you need, but, if you're like me, you'll WANT more .... However, if you can afford (because money, space, etc.) only ONE CD from the era of GOOD music, then this is the one. Neilw43.
