Big thumbs-up for Road House!
It's about time Fox re-released "Road House" in its Film Noir series. This is a gritty classic with Richard Widmark almost as stunningly crazed as he was in "Kiss Of Death." Ida Lupino, as Lily Stevens, burns on the screen as the piano-playing chanteuse entertaining the crowds at Jefty's (Widmark) out-of-the-way bowling alley/bar. Cornell Wilde, as Pete Morgan, manages the roadhouse and sweeps Lily off her feet, much to the dismay of Jefty. The twists and turns come fast and furious and finally erupt in a showdown that matches the on-the-run lovers in "Gun Crazy." Noir not to be missed!
