Road to Avonlea Complete Season Four (DVD,2004)
Review created: 10/30/09

In Season 4 of this fabulous family series, the characters begin to grow & their lives take different twists and turns. The first episode is when Jasper & Olivia have their baby which is very dramatic at the end. Aunt Hetty becomes a writer by accident and winds up competing with another author that turns out to be someone she knows. Sara experiences her first infatuation of love when she admires a handsome showman. Felicity and Gus begin to court but then Gus worries when another young man comes into the picture. One of my favorite episodes is "The Disappearance" which stars Robby Benson & Diana Rigg. It's a mystery of sorts, and I wish there were more episodes like that. Another delightful one is "Home Movie", where a developer comes to town and wants to modernize it but Jasper & Sara put together a short silent film showing the simple but wonderful way the towns people live in hopes to preserve their life then. Two new charcters I love are the French Chef & the Scottish Hotel Manager! The two of them are forever getting into arguments which are hilarious. Felix gets a job at the hotel and learns responsibility. My least favorite episode is "Evelyn," but it's true-to-life. Every show makes a person feel like they are living alongside the characters from the Victorian Era. A real delight!

I love this series so much as a child and I love it even more as an adult. A lot of the situations that these charactors get themselves into are hilarious. My own children love this show and I am not afraid to let them watch it. This show is wonderful and I am extremly pleased that they released it onto DVD format.

  Awesome Movies

I've always loved the Anne of Green Gables movies and these carry on with same characters. I could watch them over and over. When I saw that I could get the sets I did.
