Industry Reviews PreS-Gr 1 This charming, simplified adaptation of the Lord's Prayer is paired with illustrations that tell the story of humanity's destruction of the rain forests. Delicate, minimal, pale watercolors, done in a primitive style, depict the creatures of this ecosystem, particularly in South America, and the threat of fire, bulldozer, and chainsaw to their habitat. Front notes identify the scarlet macaw, toucan, parrot, anteater, tapir, jaguar, and piranha, among others. This understated but definite reminder that our stewardship of the Earth is at risk is properly and effectively combined with the all-embracing prayer.
