River Road Recipes I (1994, Hardcover)

My wife who does the majority of our cooking was told by relatives of ours while she was visiting in Baton Rouge that this was one of the best cookbooks we could get for great recipes (this was after my wife had purchase another book and they saw it). We have only tried about 6 recipes, but everything has been great so far. The recipes are easy to follow and of course they have a cajun flare so they are fantastic. For the price I doubt you can find a better cookbook with more awesome cajun food. Louisiana knows how to do the cajun thing right.

The best cookbook ever. It's great to share as a gift for those who enjoy cooking unique meals and for those learning to cook the way God intended.

Cajun cooking is second nature to us. My mom has all 2 of these cookbooks. They are wonderful! Very basic and practical - no fancy pages or pictures here. The content is what's key. You will find few Cajun cookbooks that will offer you so much.

I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to learn about real Louisiana cooking. All of the recipes follow real Louisiana cooking and are absolutely delicious.

There are alot of Junior League cookbooks in circulation, this one is a must.
