Risotto - A tasty electronica treat

Another gem from the Astralwerks lable, 'Risotto' is a must have for any self-respecting electronic lover or DJ. It’s the kind of thing you should own as a CD and as a record because you really need to stand behind a turntable blasting this in the wee hours of the morning. The popular track ‘Atom Bomb’ which was originally written for the soundtrack of the Playstation game Wipeout XL has been featured on several movies and is on the soundtrack for ‘The Saint.’ This and the track 'Absurd' which is featured on the Hackers 3 soundtrack are ultimate late night party dance tracks. While these are the most popular tracks, there is much more to this album. For instance ‘Kitten Moon’ delights with over 9 minutes of deep trip-hop sounds and electronic goodness, and the cleverly named 'Reeferendrum' is just the kind of music you want to speed down the highway to. On whole, Risotto offers up the perfect combination of deep basslines, progressive techno beats and minimalist but well-placed lyrics. There are tracks to dance to, tracks to trip out to, and tracks to chill out too. Like its food counterpart, Risotto will leave you feeling good and satisfied after this sensual aural feast.
