At Risk CD by Patricia Cornwell

The story was decent, but not up to par with some of Cornwell's other work such as her earlier Kay Scarpetta novels. The reader was difficult to listen to. Her voice was sharp and staccato, and she attempted to change her voice to suit the characters, which in her case did not work for me. She wasn't convincing as a male, and her accents failed. She detracted from the story itself.
Cornwell is one of my favorite quick read authors, and I enjoy her forensic approach. This was a decent way to spend a few hours on the road, but I wouldn't recommend the CD because of the reader.
