Rise Up Singing by Pete Seeger (2004, Paperback, Spiral)

I've owned this book for about 12 years and love it. It is great for giving the words and chords to songs I want to sing. The transcriptions are very close or identical to the published music. Although it doesn't give the melody for the songs, there used to be tapes published by the same folks that did that. Now days I just go to YouTube and there is almost always someone who has put out a video of them playing the song.

I like that I finally have my own copy of this book. I am learning to play the guitar so the songs/chords are perfect for me. There are so many songs that I am familiar with in the book. It gives me the chords I need to use to play the songs myself! My only wish is that the book was updated a bit with some newer material...newer songs that are already known for their familiarity in the folk circles.
