The film is 50 years old! I remember going to the drive-in to see it when it was only a few years old, and it soon became my favorite film and remains so to this day. For the most part, this DVD delivers on its promise as the Ultimate Collector's Edition with small replicas of the original comic book, the lobby cards used in theaters 50 years ago and the flyer handed out at the world premiere of the film. Additionally, the audio and widescreen video has been restored and remastered and probably hasn't looked or sounded this good in 50 years, maybe better! For the fan and collector, like myself, this DVD is well worth the price of admission, but so long as I'm alive, I'll still be waiting for modern technology to give us another ultimate ultimate edition, at some point, in stereo or maybe in Dolby 5.1.

Ultimate Collector's Edition is a big understatement. This item is a lot more than any movie collector could ever expect. It would be a perfect world if every "collectors edition" was of this magnitude. My hat is off to Warner Home Video on this one, I am very impressed.

I really love what Warner Bros. has done with their "Ultimate Collection".
The first Ultimate Collection release I purchased was "The Searchers", and I was really impressed with all the extras that were included(Especially the reprint comic book).
When I heard that Rio Bravo was being reased, I knew it was a matter of time(and the right price)before I would own it as well.
This Ultimate version includes the 2 dvd set,repro lobby card, and exclusive to this set the pressbook, and comic book reprints.
Now if price is a consideration, you can buy the stripped down version(which is a 2- dvd with the repro lobby cards)
Either way I absolutely recommend this dvd set.

Great story, great charisma among lead characters, very funny. Good ensemble, and John Wayne/Angie Dickinson interplay really works. We love and miss the Duke, Dean Martin, Ricky Nelson, and Walter Brennan. A good movie.
