Ridgid 5HP Wet/Dry Vacuum

I purchased a like model of this shop-vacuum about four years ago while shopping for several tools (band-saw, drill-press, jointer, routers, ect.) to setup my new workshop. As I was shopping at Home Depot, a representative for Ridgid approached me. I had been contemplating a replacement drill. The old Craftsman still worked, but the batteries were toast. The cost of two new batteries was more than the drill. He explained to me that all Ridgid products have a lifetime warranty, to include the batteries. Well, that sold me on the drill (not to mention many other Ridgid products).
My first impression of the shop-vac was grand. The vacuum had a hose was long enough to work with, was bundled with many attachments and a spare filter, and it was most importantly… powerful. The unit came with one 7 foot hose, two extension wands, a utility nozzle, wet nozzle, floor brush, car nozzle, and a 1 ¼ hose with a brush tool. I used the shop-vac for nearly two years before purchasing a second of the same model. It is handy to have two shop-vacs in the workshop. I even combined them using PVC to achieve twice the amount of extensions, capacity, and suction (it has the power to pull carpet from the floor of a car, oops!). I was slightly disappointed to see that the new vac was lacking a couple of the tools that were included with my original vac (such as the 1 ¼ hose and spare filter). However, I am very pleased with the quality and durability of the Ridgid line of products. Surprisingly, they are not as costly as some other name brands, yet they stand up to the abuse I put them through.
