RIDERS ON THE STORM BY JOHN DENSMORE
I was initially prepared not to like this book because of what I had read concerning John Densmore and his long-standing issues with the two remaining Doors, Ray and Robby. I assumed it would be chapter after chapter of someone with an ax to grind. However, I was pleasantly surprised from page one and thoroughly enjoyed reading John's behind-the-scenes look at the Doors and a fresh perspective on relationships within the group and especially John's relationship with Jim Morrison. If you've read the books by Manzarek, Sugarman/Hopkins, Lisciandro and Fong-Torres, you must also read Densmore - it does not disappoint.
