This is such a cute book. Tons of pictures to look at. Each page has a search and find for the little goldbug character. All kinds of cute made up vehicles and action to look at. Lots of pages. Would definitely recommend this book!

A must have for all kids that love cars and trucks and all things that go vroooom. Colofull pictures and nice big bold pictures.

My husband owned this book growing up & my 3 yr old loves it. I purchase this copy to replace my husband's which has been taped multiple times. I remember looking at this book at my dentist's office as a kid. I didn't know it actually had a story line- I only remember searching for Gold Bug!

This is the greatest children's book ever! I started reading it to my 2-year-old in 1975 and he learned to read from it by age of 4. Amazing. He learned by memory and then word recognition and syllable pronunciation with some phonetics prompting.

He never got tired of the story, which reveals something new every time through.

It's kind of long for an every night bedtime ritual, but my son learned to count to ten by turning the pages. Ten pages a night takes just about a week.

A true quality time experience! I bought it this time for my doctor's 2-year-old.

My own son, who just turned 28, enjoyed our old edition of this book from age 2 through 8. Our neighbor's son is now 18 months old and loves to sit out front with his mom or grandma, pointing to the cars and planes and saying "car," "plane" or "airplane" or "vroom, vroom!" So I suspected this book would be a hit with him, too, and that he'd love to have a parent or grandparent read to him from it, as my son did, pointing to the various cartoon (yet surprisingly detailed) illustrations, having the loved one read the captions, and together finding "Gold Bug" hiding on each two-page spread. Sure enough, when I showed the book cover to him while he was in his dad's arms, he saw all the cool illustrations and his eyes got big as saucers! Right away, he reached out with both hands to take the book, and he absolutely refused to let go. Even at this early age, he knew the book was to be opened and pages turned, and he was enthralled as his dad did so. So if your young child loves cars and trucks and all other things that move on land, on the water, or in the air, then this book is guaranteed to be a big hit.

My four year old son borrowed this book from the library and he loved it so much that I bought it for him. There are so many things to see on every single page that no matter how many times I have read this book to him, we STILL find new things! Also, one of the characters, Goldbug, is hidden somewhere on each page and he loves to find him. The pictures are super cute and very cleverly done. I think that any child, boy or girl, that loves transporation would be thrilled with this book. The only downfall is that it is long and my little one knows if I skipped a page or some words, so I can't do that. It takes about 20 - 25 minutes for us to go through it, but of course we have to talk about the many pictures on each of the pages!! He also likes looking through it by himself. I highly recommend this book.

These were quite popular when our boys were little. Now they have their own boys and I thought it would be nice for them to share the stories they grew up with with their own children.I would recommend these books to anyone, they are fun and colorful.

This is a wonderful book for children. The pictures are fun, colorful and a little zany. My grandson has a wonderful time looking for gold bug on each page--the same way his dad and uncles did when they were young.

My two year old son never gets tired of reading this book. There is SO much to look at! Even after he has memorized where Goldbug is hiding, he still manages to be entertained by all of the crazy vehicles and characters. This was a favorite of my husband's when he was a child, and now he's thrilled to share it with our son.
It is lengthy and there's not much of a story, but it's still worth opening up and watching your child "oooh and aaah" over every car :)

A great book to provide quality time between parent and child!

On each page there are multiple fun objects and characters with printed words to describe each one (disguised vocabulary practice!), plus a tiny little guy called "Gold Bug". The first one to spot "Gold Bug" and point him out is the winner for that page. Children love the interaction and the characters, and along the way, they learn PLENTY!

Richard Scarry is an excellent children's author, and kids love this book.

This book is great for little ones and toddlers. However, not for the reading content (which is great by the way). My children and I look for the "goldbug" that is on every page. He is tiny and hard to find but it is so fun to try and find him. My kids eventually memorize where he is and can point to him before I finish turning the pages. I had this book when I was little, too! One of my favorite kid books of all time!!

My son loved this book when he was small. He is now 26. He has a daughter and when she comes over we look for GoldBug in our book. Mine is now about 25 yrs old and dated and worn. I bought this book to give to her. It was in excellent shape. It's been updated since my version. I was very pleased with my transaction.

My mom read me this book when I was a child. I loved this book. I still had the copy from when I was a child, but it was a little worse for wear. Now I am reading it to my kids and they absolutely love it.

I bought this book because my grandchildren adored the old tattered one we had here at home. It never failed that this was the book they wanted to read. They love that they actually get to find "gold bug" on each page. He was circled in the old book by some child. The new book is in excellent condition and my grandchildren love it!

My son loves this book. He is 3 and asks me to read it several times a day. He likes to find goldbug on each page and asks me about the different vehicles in the book. I bought this for him after we had to return it to the library and he was really sad to see it go. This book used to be a favorite of my little brother and I read it to him when he was the same age my son is now. 25 years later, it is still a hit.
