Album Notes Rich Creamy Paint: Rich Painter (vocals, various instruments). Recorded at IHOF Studios, Nashville, Tennessee between August 1997 & February 1999. First off, you gotta love the band name, especially once you realize that Rich Creamy Paint is not a band at all, but one guy from Nashville named Rich Painter, who plays every instrument on his debut except for the strings on three songs. Painter's skewed world-view is laid out on the album--it takes a certain kind of mind to write a love song around the lines "I'm your Chris Farley/And you're my David Spade" or "Like I got A.D.D., you're always on my mind." RICH CREAMY PAINT is produced by Painter's uncle, John Mark Painter of Fleming and John, and John's characteristically detailed production and smart pop sense are put to great use on instantly hummable songs like "You're a 10" and "I Know We Will." The fact that Rich Painter made this accomplished one-man-band album at the age of 19 is simply astonishing.
