Returner (DVD, 2004)

It's a good Japanese film, but don't expect a classic. It isn't great, but you will most of it. Still give it a try!

The story is unique and interesting. You may think it is typical Si-Fi movie, but the ending is differnt. I thought the bad guy was little over reacting.
The girl(An Suzuki) is acting very good. And Miyamoto(Takeshi Kaneshiro) is cool guy.

Very good film, especially for a imported film with added English. No R rated material. Excellent but surprising plot. A lot of turns and twist with action from start to end.

WAS A GOOD DVD OVERALL - WILL WATCH IT AGAIN - COULD HAVE USED A LITTLE MORE SCI-FI COMPUTER ACTION - ENDING WAS VERY COOL

I like actor Kaneshiro Takeshi, so I wanted own his movie Returner. But movie was damaged some seen looses audio, some seen freezes. I am very disappointed.
I watched the movie few days after I recieved and it was over seven day so I couldnt return the item. I would not buy again from this seller again.

The story is the real star of the picture.The actors are in top form and the directing is excellent.If you like strange off the normal sci-fi this movie will put a smile on your face. Ok so there could have been just a little more special effects but the movie is about humans and the challange of survival. More effects would have taken away from that and I think it's better when there's less to punch the story up.But this story is fun all in it's own and doesn't need Returner 3,4,5,6,7,8,9. so grab some popcorn and enjoy :)

I like the action on this film. I love Takeshi Kaneshiro. This film is for anyone who likes action with a twist of Sci-Fi, even for those who are not into action films, give it a try... you'll enjoy it. By the way the "villain" of this movie is so "bad" that is so good :)

The 2004 DVD has a good English dubbed track, better English subtitles you can use while you watch it in Japanese, and is an interesting movie before you get to the extras, but the extras take it WAY over interesting to the very, very interesting stage-- how they did some of the stunts-- and not really a spoiler, but some of the obvious if it was American made "wire stunts with CGI cleanup" turn out to be real stunts, no wire, no CGI.

Think of it as a good story, elements borrowed from several other movies, and a good result as a stand alone item.

There is one "spoiler" warning-- about a third of the way in there is a scene that just jars since it is so out of place and makes no sense. Hang on to the end-- it is not out of place, it does fit, and although absurd in context, it is a cute play on the way the viewer watches a movie, too.

AVOID the early 2003 DVD, which may be a infringement copy.

DVD came within a week. Box is in good shape. Disc plays great and seller sent me emails to let me know when it shipped.

This movie was everything one wants from a sci-fi movie. The plot is excellent and acting was excellent. Every sci-fi fan should watch this film.
