Opening up a time capsule full of mall-hopping Valley Girls, the Go-Go's are back with RETURN TO THE VALLEY OF THE GO-GO'S, a collection of rarities, B-sides, and three new compositions. Certainly not the first all-female rock group in history, the Go-Go's were definitely the most popular.
Their surfy poppiness fit perfectly within the post-punk climate of the early '80s. Brimming with picturesque charm, they were marketed with the same comic book cuteness as the early Beatles. Back when the Go-Go's first gained popularity, the concept of an all-female band was still new to the media and to the Go-Go's fans.
RETURN TO THE VALLEY OF THE GO-GO'S is indispensible to any Go-Go's fan. In between songs from their three albums, RETURN TO THE VALLEY OF THE GO-GO'S treats the listener to rare rehearsal tapes from as early as 1979 and includes live recordings spanning their career.
