Return To Sleepaway Camp (DVD, 2008)

I was also a big fan of the original movie, and this movie definitely had that old 80's style feel to it, but it just seemed a little too low budget. The dialog was just sooooo bad. It seemed like they were making it up as they went along. The special effects were decent though. But come on, you knew who the killer was as soon as he stepped into frame. The best scene in the whole thing was the one after the credits. They should of had a little more of that in the story. Also where were the 80's style sexy nude scenes in this movie? I gotta say most of the horror movies they make nowadays could use a little more sexing up. To make up for some of the boring stuff. All in all, if you like 80's style horror, it is worth a rent, but I would not buy it.

I've beeen a fan of the origanal Sleepaway Camp movies since I was in 7th grade so when I heard they where making another sequel with some of the original cast I couldn't wait to see it. I'm a huge fan of older horror movies from the 80's so I loved the movie. It isn't very hard to figure out what is going on through out the movie, but if you enjoyed the origanal film then this one is worth a watch.

I bought this dvd after watching the trilogy boxset.... Those 3 films are hysterical, with some of the most hilarious latex deaths i've seen since Dr Giggles! This is quite recent but includes a lot of the cast from the first film including the transgender serial killer! The 2nd film is my fave but this is ok. The acting is appallingly funny and a slew of hillarious deaths near the end tops it off nicely!

Pros: Many original cast members and new notable movie/tv stars, same style of hilarity and gore

Cons: If you are not a fan of or have not seen sleepaway camp 1-3, you will probably think that this movie is below average and/or stupid.

First and foremost this is a movie for the cult fans of the sleepaway camp series. It has the feel of the 80's/early 90's slasher gore/mystery films, where the killer uses abstract ways to off his/her victims and is not revealed until the end. The movie has many references to the original sleepaway camp, as it is a continuation of the series (sleepaway camp 4 was never completed). What I enjoyed most about this movie was that there are many original cast members along with notable actors such as Vincent Pastore from "The Sopranos" and Isaac Hayes as, you guessed it, the chef.

This movie wont win any awards, and most people will write it off as a bad movie. I think these movies are more hilarious than scary, and I enjoy them. So far ive purchased the sleepaway "survival kit" box set 1-3 w/ scenes from 4 and this movie for approximately $25. Well worth it.

very big disapointment here - not nearly as good as the films before it - everything was very predictable - acting just bad - not worth 90 min. of your time

A spectacularly bad movie, hilarious for fans of campy, easily-mocked horror films. If you liked the original Sleepaway Camp movie, you'll love this. If you're looking for a serious horror movie, on the other hand, this is definitely not your film.

This movie is so bad it's good. If you are a fan of the Sleepaway Camp trilogy, then this movie is a MUST see!! 20 years later, this movie is FULL of laughs and ridiculousness with some of the original actors including ANGELA. This does not seem to be a movie that you can just go out and rent. I got mine here on eBay for an inexpensive price. I highly recommend...but ONLY if you are a fan of the original three...

Movie is Great if your a big fan of the original sleepaway camps you will love this one same m.o this is just a newer verison has alot of the original members of the first one this film is based on sleepaway camp 1 not the sequals of 2 and 3 they made in the late 80s

i lked this movie as it follows the slasher genre.had some different horror scenes.it hid the killer well so you were not sure who it was.one charecter was really annoying and it was hard to endure,but the movie was still not half bad.i have not seen any of the first three at all.those may worth it to take a look.isaac hayes was in this as he had died last year.

I love the Sleepaway camp franchise I can't wait to see where the character of Angela is headed for the future films. I have the 1st 4 films and I love to watch them over and over again.

This is a good, even though its not focus Angela or Ricky, but I like the mystery; I wish they could do more with movie, but I'm satisfied with it!
