A Return to Love by Marianne Williamson (1992, Hardcover)

I went looking for this book after watching the movie Coach Carter. In the movie, Coach Carter asked, what is your deepest fear and the response was just breathtaking and enlightening.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

After looking up where this quote was from, I was directed to Ms. Williamson. As I have never read anything from this author before, I was so put off by the feeling this book was of little value to me as I had not read the Course in Miracles prior to purchasing this book. This is like a study guide based on Courses rather than a book all by itself.

I am happy I found the quote, but unhappy about this book.

In a time of my life where i felt hopeless and my foundation was crumbled because of failed relationships and living a fearfull life ,this book saved my soul.It speaks directly to me and helps me live a simple and serene life as a single man.This book came to me at a perfect time,u must be ready and willing to open your heart and mind to this book,it has changed me and my thinking in little time.
