Very well done - scholarly yet readable - a FASCINATING subject, the value of Mary Magdalene to Christianity and the reemergence of her character into mainstream religious thought as the most important apostle of Jesus rather than a simple prostitute whom Jesus redeems. As a result of the discovery of the nag hamadi gospels and other early works, the contributions of this woman have now been noted for what they were - simply among the most important in the history of Christianity. Not to mention the possibility of a more intimate relationship with jesus than anyone could have imagined.
