This game looks awesome. I think Gears of war for the 360 has a slight edge on the "Pretty Scale". However, this game kicks its butt on ambiance.
There is so much going on. On the 360 I thought the Backgrounds were better than Last Gen but now on the PS3 I am starting to see improvements beyond that. For instance in Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter you can see other parts of the city in the background. Well in Resistance, not only can I see parts of the City in the background, but I can see things happening over there as well. There are explosions, and smoke, and Flames, and Birds, and Planes... This to me is the Way cool Factor.
Then in another level, I think it was the 2nd one. There is a bunch of brush and trees. The brush, grass, and trees all sway in the wind independently, Heck I bet the Even tasked a Processor just to handle things in the wind. You stare out in front of yourself and it is just awesome watching the Background just coming alive.
The Enemy AI is Very Good. You have to use Cover, OR Flank from somewhere else other than where your company is attacking from, OR go into Zoom mode dodging bullets taking head shots. The big difference for myself would be the OR in that statement, you see in Gears of War you have to use Cover. The Game is all about Cover. OK if i am this Big Bad Dude... Then why do I have to Cower like a little girl behind cover. This is the Reason why I got to my Resistance Review before my Gears of War Review. I finished Resistance... and I am going back for a second round, before I will get back to finishing Gears for the 1st Time. Not to say that I think Gears is bad.
40 Players online. Holy $&#*. Gears only has 8 Players. Why am I paying $50 a year for XBox Live??? I thought Xbox Live was supposed to be so much better... and the best we can do is 8...
The Different modes are all pretty good.
The Weapons are a nice variety and all very cool.
Boss battles are exhilarating.
Sometimes I just like to stand around and shoot the glass or stare at the water, because it is done very well. The Glass breaks in a different way for a Rifle Butt than a shot from a gun. Every time you hit the glass it breaks away in a realistic fashion. Very Cool.
The Sound I thought was done pretty well. Even on my TV Speakers the Voices would seem to surround me. I never got Lost because I could just turn in the Direction of where the War is going on.
Vehicles are very Nice. Heck, after getting my butt kicked by the AI for a couple of hours, a vehicle that allows me to rule the roost for a couple of minutes is a nice way to go... Blow up window... Blow Up Bus... Blow up Car... Fun stuff
Oh Yeah, one more cool thing... If you kill the Chimera there Cooling Life support Tubes will pop out if you hit them from the side or the back, then they will flop around blowing out coolant for a few seconds until it runs out, Very nice touch.

"It's like playing every FPS ever."
Okay. If you're like me, and ignore all the hype surrounding this game, you were still probably expecting at least a solid game, it being the crown jewel of the PS3's launch titles. However, I was letdown.
Gameplay:
Of course, the most important aspect. The gameplay washed over me like a lukewarm wave. I was hoping the lack of rumble wouldn't affect the game very much, but without there was just something missing. The weapons lacked sparkle without a buzz in your palms. To tell the truth, they lacked more than that. Sure, the weapons are unique, but you never feel like anyone is more useful than any other for any given situation. In fact the weapons are a little to unique, to the point where the effectiveness of them is hampered by the manner you have to use them.
The controls were pretty smooth, if not counter intuitive. I can understand WHY they wouldn't want to mimic the Halo control scheme, but I can't believe they didn't have the goombahs to suck up their pride and use a very effective control system. 'Oh look, the L2 and R2 buttons are more trigger like!...but hey, let's use the R2 for weapon selection!' My only real complaint is the zoom. It feels so clunky, all of a sudden your gun is in the middle of the screen and you've zoomed in. No transition, and no telling how your gun got there out of nowhere.
Overall the gameplay felt like a frenzied Call of Duty with Serious Sam overtones. The enemies aren't particularly smart, but there are just so damn many of them and they're so powerful that tactics become moot on their end.
Visuals and Sound:
Yes, I'm combining the two, because the two are so closely linked. I kept seeing grenades go off and shots hitting me and expecting a fitting audio accompaniment. That said, the audio was nice, just badly implemented. The graphics however, were very unimpressive, not just because you'd expect them to be more polished, but because the visual design is so damn generic. Oh look a war torn town. And an enemy stronghold, which should have obviously superior technology...with thin metal rails for pathways! Identical enemies that seem to be using the same animation at the same time!
Summary: I find the lack of originality perturbing, and the audio and visual half assed. Actually, I find the whole game half assed. It just doesn't have any appeal, no reason to keep this game in mind longer than the time it takes to trudge through the campaign. Remember Pariah, Project Snowblind, and every Unreal game since the first couple? No, and you'll soon forget Resistance.
Not worth playing, and certainly not worth getting a PS3 for.

The game is great for people who enjoy shooter games. They have a selection of alien weaponry. Co-op is pretty fun when you have others to play with you as you can plan assaults as well as revive each other. There are two cons; one revolves with the short levels of the game. Another revolves with the price. Wish they would have changed it.

I heard about Resistance Fall of Man back when the PS3 came out and it looked amazing...plus being able to have over 30 people playing online together is crazy! I bought my 40gb ps3 4 weeks ago and this is the 3rd title I have purchased and it is the second best in my collection ...first being MGS4 and third being Warhawk!

This game is great. The game story and the games was so great that the game needed a sequel-and the game will get it soon.
Pros:
Good graphics,great action ,great story,nice arsenal of weapons.

Can't interact with the game world.

Pros: At least 10 hours of gameplay. Epic story line. Excellent atmosphere and free online multiplayer with ps3.
Cons: selecting options for ranked online sucks - cant choose any conditions or race type. Regular online is so-so - community is dwindling and the select options are still somewhat limited.
Overall, a solid game but do not expect the multiplayer experience to last.

Hours of entertainment.This is probably one of the best all arround PS3 games on the market. I played "Resistance Fall of Man" at a friends house and couldn't put it down. I found the game on Ebay later that evening at a great price. I have had hours of entertainment sence my game arrived. Graphics are great and game play has just enough challenge to keep you comming back time after time.

This is a fun shooter...not too technical and doesn't require a lot of thought. If you're looking for something like Call of Duty 4, this isn't is, but it's worth the time to make a run through. The game is very linear, but the variety of weapons / vehicles made the game a bit more fun.

Worst Game EverI thought this game was going to be realism mixed with fantasy. It was just fantasy, no realistic weapons for the time period. It had a poor story and poor stage graphics. No detail was put into the design. Rooms all looked alike. I don't know how this was suppose to be the pilot game for PS3. Do not waste your money.
