The Rescue by Nicholas Sparks (2000, Hardcover)

This book was a great introduction to the writing of Nicholas Sparks for me. I loved the story it told and the way it captured my interest from the very begining. I can't wait to locate and start reading more of his books.

I couldn't help but fall in love the the people in the book. Nicholas Sparks really puts you in the story and it's hard to put the book down. What a great love story. Every touching. At one point, I found my self crying about something in the story (will not state) forgetting that I was in a public place while I was reading. The book is so good, I became so engrossed.

I always love this author's books.. I started reading this book on loan from a friend and coworker and decided to buy it for myself.. great book.

I love to read Nicholas Sparks novels. I have read everyone he has written. He is a great author. I recommend any book by him.

I have been reading all of the Nicholas Spark's novels and finally was able to locate and complete my collection of his novels.

I decided to buy this book for a gift. It was marked autographed so I figured it'd be a good investment piece as well as a good read.

I am a fan of Nicholas Sparks' writing style and have read nearly all of his novels, including his recently published memoir, "Three Weeks with My Brother." After having read his memoir it made it clear why he chose to write "The Rescue" and detail the challenges of raising a child with learning difficulties. It is a very good and easy read and will keep you interested the whole way through.

This is another book by a great writer. I read this in 2 sessions. I think this one made me cry too. He has a way of telling a story that makes you anticipate reading his books. He makes it hard for you to put them down.

Fantastic book....I am a huge fan of Sparks and so is my family...we have passed this one around and CHEERS to Sparks. The characters are so loveable and you can't wait till the end to find out what happens.

Because these characters are preordained lovers, their feelings prescribed by fiction conventions, their psychology amounts to little more than a profusion of banality. Yet Sparks's narrative acquires immediacy when his characters' exaggerated emotions compel immoderate actions, and his readers will surely delight at these moments of heightened expressiveness.

All of Nicholas Sparks' books are a good read - one reason many of them become movies. These modern day romance stories capture in depth the personality of these interesting characters. We can connect to them as they are everyday people who reside in eastern coastal North Carolina, sharing many of the same problems and experiences we can relate to. This particular book deals with firefighters/ emergency personnel living the Dismal Swamp area of NC with an additional romantic twist. I've had the pleasure to vacation in NC every summer and his stories come to life as I can picture through the book's details the towns I have visited. I usually can't put his books down, and "The Rescue" is no exception. Curl up, savor his descriptive writing, and ENJOY!

I really like this book I am collecting all of his books and enjoy reading than in the evening after dinner. Most of the books that I read are true to the movies I have watched

In my opinion, this is Nicholas Sparks's 4th best book (behind The Notebook, A Walk to Remember, and The Lucky One). Wonderful Book

AWESOME BOOK!!!! Nicholas Sparks has done it once again...I LOVE all his books and this one is one of my favroites!! Again he pulls at your heartstrings, grab you a box of tissues, and enjoy! A WONDERFUL love story!!

i feel that of all the nichlas sparks books that would be a good movie it would have been this one. its has romance and a little action (with the fires and all). all in all, a good read.

The thing I loved most about it was the title really. I had a close frind who was a firefighter and thats what made me decide to buy it. The story is great, I really got into it and enjoyed it. I just wish the story would have been a true story, but there was nothing that I disliked about it.
