Co-creator Denis Leary's FX show Rescue Me is one of the finest examples of American television to date. Mixing complex storylines with engaging dialogue, humor and emotional depth, Leary has crafted a world most of us will only visit via Rescue Me. Every episode seems to end far too soon, leaving the viewer hungry to find out what happens next. As in real life, don't expect a happy ending every time; numerous characters have come and gone during the show's three-year run, many coming quite unexpectedly.

Centered on a New York City firehouse, Rescue Me follows the lives of several firefighters while primarily focusing on Leary's character Tommy, who is intermittently charming, duplicitous, loving, conniving and oftentimes loathsome. At the end of the day, he is, simply, human and therefore flawed. Battling substance addiction, a mistrustful ex-wife, and the rigors of his job, Tommy can be a sympathetic figure as we watch him struggle to find his way through life. In addition to real-world problems, Tommy is also frequently visited by the dead: his cousin (who died on 9/11), victims of fires he fought, and biblical characters (Jesus and Mary Magdeline).

Rescue Me offers something for nearly every viewer, and the rumored final season should bring closure on a number of fronts as the firehouse is slowly but surely coming apart. If you have not seen this show, just watch one episode and you will be hooked!

I love the tv shows first three seasons. THE 4TH one the stoy line was just stupid and way off the mark from the first season.

Denis Leary, who plays Tommy Gavin in this series, fits perfectly as the main character in Rescue Me. This series has comedy and drama and can really touch you. Based from the events of 9/11, Rescue Me follows the lives of the crew of Ladder 62 in New York City. With all the up and downs of family problems, alcoholism, tragedies and work ethics, this series is one of the best on TV today. This show can make you feel like you belong as part of the family of Ladder 62. I've been hooked on the show since the beginning and can't wait for the next season to start. What's in store next?

The DVD's arrived in excellent shape and in a timely manner. I bought this set of DVD's for my fiancee so now he has all three seasons.

This show is great! For adults only! Not for children under 16! I love how all of the characters interact. The guys are such pigs at times which makes it hilarious. There is alot of cursing so if that offends you than this show is not for you. They touch on family and religious issues which can also make it quite touching at times. It's all about the lives of some of the New york firefighters and how their job effects them. Very entertaining TV.

this is a great series for anybody but it is better if you are a fire fighter i am and i love it it takes you inside the twisted mind of a firefighter after he has survived 9/11 and lost many people close to him

THIS IS MY FAVORITE SERIES ON TELEVISION. CANNOT WAIT FOR THE NEW SEASON. THE SHOW HAS GREAT HUMOR WITH ACTION AND DRAMA.

We have already watched Rescue Me Season 2 and have a list of friends that want to borrow it--it's addictive. It is not for family viewing, as the content is graphic and the language is not appropriate for young viewers. I think of it as a soap opera for men- but I as a woman enjoy it also. It is dramatic and funny. We are anxiously awaiting season 3 coming out on DVD and hopefully for season 4 to show up on FX.

After getting hooked on season one, this purchase was a must ! Well worth it too. Action packed, lots of drama, full of all the stuff that keeps you coming back for more. With the ending on the last DVD...I sure hope there is a season three !

i love this show . a friend got me started watching this before the 3rd season started by watching dvds and im hooked BIG TIME!!!! i cant wait til the 4th season starts.

I love this show leary and tolan have put together a great series. I would recomend buying this dvd and watch it on tv a great show. It is funny and sad and crazy just like life and that makes a good show

I have not missed a episode yet this series is a great watch for people of all types, it is funny action and romance all wrapped up into one.

I like this show a lot. I received the first season on DVD for Christmas. Now I want to rewatch all the seasons before the series returns again this April. I liked buying the seasons from the same buyer and saving on shipping costs & it was cheaper than purchasing it new in the stores to really only watch once & now it will sit on my shelf until someone needs it.

The DVD came in good condition. I bought because I didn't have this season of rescue me in my collection.
