this is a great series for anybody but it is better if you are a fire fighter i am and i love it it takes you inside the twisted mind of a firefighter after he has survived 9/11 and lost many people close to him

Rescue me is that rare show that takes a concept not seen before and executes it perferctly. It's all about the firefighters of FDNY and how they deal with the aftermath of 9/11 and their own personal demons. While some attempt to get past these issues by therapy, poetry, etc... others fill the void with sex, alcohol and anger. Unlike many shows which take an entire first season to introduce you to characters and events, this show thrusts you right in the middle of their lives and lets you the viewer adjust to them. Two thumbs up and definatly worthy of a buy as some of the episodes, dialogue and performances are demanding of repeat viewings.

How can you go wrong buying this!? You can't! This show gives a very true to life look into the lives of some of New Yorks bravest. Anyone who has ever been a firefighter, wishes they could be, or just wants to catch a glimpse of the lifestyle, this is the perfect show for you. Very funny and very gripping! Is very graphic in language, sexual matter and violence so this show is not for the younger viewers.

With so much bad T.V. these days it is great to know that there are still some great shows, with that in mind "Rescue Me" the complete first season is a sign there is still hope. In the first season their is of course many introductions of characters and all with their own personal issue's that provide this show with a road of many twists and turn. With so many turns in the road there no chance of getting bored. The characters are brought to life by a great cast that gives the show the extra drama. The best part now is that the show is now on DVD so a person that is curious about the show and didn't get to see the first season can watch it, or even the a fan of "Rescue Me" can relive those moments that make the series original. To sum it up it's worth the buy.

I loved watching these episodes on FX during the regular season. I just had to purchase them! Nothing better than kicking back and watching Dennis Leary on a rainy day. Warning, these are Mature/Adult Themed. I would not recommend them for children or teenagers.

i startd watching in one night and ended up staying up real late and watched the entire First Season. It wasn't the type of show I thought I wouldn't like. I thought it was strictly a drama but I laughed, cried, on the edge of my seat. I didn't know Denis Leary until i watched this show and he is one funny guy even when he isn't trying to be. The conversations in the kitchen of the fire station were so funny and typicle of men. I watched it for about 4 weeks in a row on TV, I had to buy 1,2 & 3 seasons just to get me up to date and glad I did. I will never miss another episode.

Great show. Have been watching it since it first aired and just had to buy the DVD. The extras are great as is the show.

Another great show, would definately recommend! If you've never seen this show, you have to buy the series! I've watched it since if first aired and still bought all 3 seasons just so I can watch them again during their "off season"

This is one of my favorite tv shows- but its hard to stay up that late to watch it- so I'm glad to get the DVD.

This was a birthday gift for my husband and he really enjoyed it. He used to be a member of a local fire compay and all of this type of movies he really enjoyes. I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoyes this type of shows.

This is my favorite show. I cannot wait for the new season to come back on. I had to buy the set so I can watch them whenever I want.

Show is fantastic, and I have always been a fan because the writing is some of the best on television today. As for the DVD set, it is also exceptional. Bonus features, gag reels, etc. aren't even necessary but compliment the commercial-free viewing nicely.

My boyfriend got me hooked on this series in the third season. I just had to see what happened in the first and how the people in the story got to where they are in the third season. It is a little graphic with language, so if you are wanting to view this with young children, I wouldn't.

First off, I was never a big Dennis Leary fan ,so when this show first came on FX I gave it a pass. Never gave it a viewing, never gave it a chance. Big mistake on my part!I decided to watch an episode of season 3 due to the urging of a friend. I did it to shut him up and it's an amazing show. So Season 1 . Phenominal writing , acting and cast. This show is a perfect meld of comedy and drama and with plenty of eye candy for the guys.Dennis Leary is much more than justa comedian trying to be an actor. He writes and produces the show as well as stars in it. All done to exceptional standards. HIGHLY RECCOMENDED. The cast is so good that you instantly feel drawn into them. You dont have to wait 3 or 4 episodes like with other shows to get a handle on them. A++++

"Rescue Me" is a show that has you hanging almost every minute of every show. Boundaries are consitently crossed in a realistic generation x plus acting. The first season may lack some of the award winning performances however the story line unfolds and you continue to be entertained. If your looking for the alternative you will not be let down.

I love the series and turned my brother on to the show. I bought the DVD for him for Christmas. Great DEAL AND GREAT SHOW.

The show is fast paced, no laugh track (thank god) and it mixes humor with drama very well. I related to so many of the situations the crew would banter about. The one-liners are priceless. If you liked "The Job", if you like shows like "Arrested Development" or shows that have dry humor and dark comedy you will like this show. It's not rehashing something that has been done before. It is totally fresh and original.

This is currently one of the best written shows on TV. The boys of Ladder 62 are so perfectly cast. You will be laughing one minute and the next minute it wil tear your heart apart. This is not for the light of heart. It is based on post 9/11. Leary is brillent as Tommy Gavin senior firefighter. Leary is one of the many FDNY firefighters in company 62. Along side with Chief Jerry Reilly (McGee), Lenny-Lou (Scurti) Sean Garrity (Pasquale), Franco (Sunjate), and Probie (Lombardi) etc. This is a must own DVD.

Great Show, a lot more realistic then people might realize not for kids this is definitely an adult’s only show funny yet at time sad. Firefighters have issue just like everyone else do. In the end they are still firefighters putting it all on the line so we can sleep better.

I purchased the complete Season 1 and 2 of the FX networks hit series, Rescue Me. It is such a great show and watching each episode simultaneously is awesome! You get so much more out of the series, it's more like a movie. I highly recommend this to everyone! This show will draw you in and you'll want nothing but more of it!! I found both seasons priced very well on Ebay and the seller I used was great. Fast shipping and the DVD's were in perfect, new condition.

Great series to watch and get in to.Dennis Leary did an outstanding job,both writing and starring.If you have'nt seen it,it is a must.

I have loved this show from day one, and Dennis Leary is awesome. I could watch it over and over. Great cast-characters and storylines.
