Ren & Stimpy - The Lost Episodes (DVD, 2006, 2-Disc Set)

I was scared at some points, laughing hard at others. I was anything but indifferent, because this has got to be the sickest, weirdest and most outrageous piece of film I have ever watched. It gets to a point where you don't want people to know that you watch this sort of thing.

I am a HUGE fan and this was a great pick. It has very humorous episodes on it, much better than the new season that aired on Spike tv.

My son recieved one for his birthday, and says it's definately not for little kids to watch! a great party romp, for the adults. Ren&Stimpy are definately different! This DVD is by far, more adult orentated than what you will ever see on TV

Love the way I received this DVD set , It came in a timely matter. In less than a week from the time a order it to the time it was in my mail box.

This is a hysterical DVD. We laughed our butts off. It was a gift for my husband for Christmas. He loves Ren & Stimpy! Not for kids. More for men than women.

I bought the DVD because of my love of the show Ren and Stimpy. The twisted and unique humor found in Ren and Stimpy can only be appreciated by true fans of absurd humor. My only regret is that their were not more episodes. Definitely not suitable for children but I do recommend it to the adult fans of the cartoon.

I have always liked R&S because they pushed the envelope when they first got released. Hats off to John K for not only thinking out of the box, but for fighting through the bureaucracy in order for his humor and artistry to be shared with the "mainstream" public.

Oh mercy. Ren & Stimpy are back in fresh new episodes that are most definitely rated R - very R.

You probably know already if this is for you - there's not much middle ground when it comes to this show, it's a love it or loathe it situation for most. (And if you dislike Ren Hoek & co., there's no reason to read any further).

For those who mourned the passing of TV's most bizarre show (more bizarre than all the imitators, by the way - though R&S was obviously a huge inspiration to animators and comedy writers, there was something deeply twisted going on that's hard to quantify and harder to imitate), this one's for you. Two discs of uber-twisted adventures, complete with topless beach-babes, tumescent chihuahua parts, and one terribly tortured frog. And what seems like hours of interviews and talking-head stuff -- interesting at first, but ultimately interminable. The producers seem to get that as well, with constant titles telling you which button to press to reach the Good Stuff.

And the Good Stuff is great; who knew Ren could knock Stimpy up, even after it was attempted by mormons, the postman, and a crew of "strapping young boy scouts"? You'll learn about Ren's troubled childhood and see Stimpy's stinky love-child. You'll see jiggly cartoon bosoms and one seriously clogged toilet.

Standouts here are "Stimpy's Pregnant", "Ren Seeks Help" and the amazing "Naked Beach Frenzy". I've shown the latter to several friends, just to watch the spasms of freaked-out laughter at the words "shampoo master". If a single moment can summarize years of whacked-out creative output, Stimpy's call of "shampoo master" may be the ultimate swan song for this truly insane series. Highly recommended.

If you know about this animated series, and like it, then you'll like this. It's more of the same but in overdrive. It lacks the closeup stills: grotesque and realistic stills. Maybe that artist is no longer with John K. Still great stuff.

I was really looking forward to a Ren & Stimpy boob-fest. naked girls plus Ren & Stimpy = awesome, right? Wrong. I guess in their excitement to do adult content they kinda let the writing, plot and jokes fall away. I was frankly bored.

I typically watch Ren and Stimpy with my son but this DVD was as close to cartoon porn as you can get without making it rated M or higher. If you are looking for classic Ren and Stimpy humor, this isn't it. If you want to see Ren and Stimpy in situations that are full of naked cartoons chicks and simulated sex schemes, then you found your video!

Just plain sick and twisted, but these episodes are pretty much for the adults, lots of nudity and they finally curse too, didnt really like the gay scenes with ren and stimpy but these episodes were based upon fans requesting it so. Some really funny and dirty episodes and there are some that are really fu(ked up and makes you wonder what they were smoking. Still fun to watch if you are a fan, doubt that the ordinary person would watch this but if you seen the others, of course you'll want to watch this.

I am a huge fan of John K. and his work and have found his commentaries on DVD releases of the classic Ren and Stimpy episodes to be insightful and informative (though constantly about the same thing). However, on this particular release, I found myself rather disappointed. Nickalodeon did take the series away from Spumco and its creator because of its often line-crossing humor, which ranged from the extremely gross to the horribly violent. The ironic thing was that Games, the studio that took over the series, managed to take the gross-out scenes to another level, one that John K. has said Spumco would never have reached. I am given the impression that is due to the fact it was originally for a kids network. Now, the gloves are off and these cartoons are as adult as they come, going from gag-inducing gags to sex jokes that are often homoerotic. Still, I felt that this newfound freedom hurt the series more than helped. A lot of humor is lost for shock value. Most of it simply is not funny. There are two good episodes that I highly recommend however, though they too have their downfalls. Ren Seeks Help is the best of the two and far better than Game's attempt at the episode (Ren Needs Help). The look back at Ren's childhood is simply astonishing and the ending does not disappoint. Altruists is another well-done episode and includes the now-infamous sawing scene (not for kids, trust me). The other episodes are worth watching, though some were too gross to watch even for a hard-core fan such as myself. I recommend this to buy for only the most devoted fan, but as a rental for the simply curious fan.

Although these episodes push the envelope, they were not that funny (with a few exceptions). They seem to rely more on shock value than humor. I was really expecting more than they deliver. Prepare for very long-winded and not so informative commentary by John K. Lots of cartoon nudity but few laughs.
