The fact this movie was based on a true story appealed to me. This was a story based on a high school football team struggling with racial prejudice when a black coach (Denzel Washington's character) joins the coaching staff of a previously all-white school at the beginning of integration in the south. It was a wonderful characterization of how learning and understanding of your fellow human being can change your attitude and enrich your life. I bought this movie as a gift to my 10-year-old grandson hoping he would take from it a very valuable lesson.

disliked the fact that even in the 70's whites and blacks were still segretated and some people to this day don't like blacks

liked the fact that it is a true story and how one man convinced a whole town that you should judge a man by his soul not by his looks an excellent movie on how white and black football players came together to have an undefeated season in foot ball and go on to be runnerup in the national championship. i would recommend this movie to anyone of any color

I'ts a great movie, inspirational! This movies shows how love for football brought these young men of different races together by putting there differences aside and working together to master the sport that they both lovaed.

i would recomend this movie to anyone .. its is a great story and is appropriate for all ages. this is one of my all time favorite movies. this movie is definately for you if you are a denzel washington fan .. he is great in the movie. everyone i know who has seen this movie has loved it and dont be discouraged from buying because its about football, it is amazing!

Any movie that I can watch with my kids without hearing foul language and seeing too much skin gets an excellent rating by me. Based on truth, the story respectfully deals with racial issues, while a team advances thru an exciting season, despite obstacles. What I liked: the end of the movie tells what each football player is now doing. What I didn't like: the football coach's daughter was a little over the top, her knowledge about football didn't seem realistic.

It took a long time to get the movie. I had to inquire a couple of times to see when it was shipped. When the movie came in the copy quality was not good and now we can't even see it. I will need to find another copy or a store that has the movie in stock.

A great story about breaking down color barriers. We all have one goal in life and this story can help us all to realize the scurge of prejudice in our society. A must see. A valuable lesson.

This is a great movie, and one the entire family will like. It is also a true story. We saw the movie a few years ago and had it on VHS but when we got rid of our VCR and went to all DVD and blue-ray we hunted for this for a very long time on DVD and could never find it. I even asked at our local mass department store if they could order it and they could not. So I was really happy when I saw it on e-bay. This is a movie my son had asked for repeatedly, I have never been that much into football but I too love this movie. It is not just about sports but some valuable lessons can be learned here about the way we treat each other still today and how we can form bonds that nothing can break. I highly recommend this to everyone young and old, sports fan or not.

This is a great DVD about football. The story is when the black boy came to school where it was all white. And how the team became a great football team and won all there games. this is a good movie and is a good story.. I hope that you will get it see it.. I like it very much.

This is my husband's FAVORITE movie and we watch it a lot. I think this is a great movie that the entire family can watch. I am a big fan of Densel Washington's movies anyway, because there is never a lot of cursing. The movie is a great lesson on life because it covers some of what has been going on for centuries now, racism. But it shows how if we work together, there is nothing that we cannot accomplish as a human race not as black or white but just as loving and caring people. Again, great, great movie!!!

I bought this DVD because my roommate was having a birthday and LOVES this movie and since I bought one for myself on here last year I decided to get her one as well. When I found this one I was not sure when it would arrive and thought she might be getting a late present. This product came VERY quickly! I was so impressed when it showed up in my mailbox within only a few days - and no I didn't pay more for shipping. This means that the seller would have had to ship soon after the order was processed - which was also very quick. I would do business with this seller over and over again. We love Denzel Washington movies. We saw it on TV many times and decided to add it to our collection of DVDs. It seems like it was never on TV at a convenient time. It is a true story of what teamwork is all about.

This is a great movie based on the true story about the combining of 2 segregated high schools in Alexandria, VA in the 70's focusing on the desegration challenges of the high school football team. Great characters, great acting, great soundtrack (if you like the late 60's early 70's pop music), just a good, clean family movie overall with some good life lessons added to boot. Highly recommended.

I love this movie. I own one on a VCR tape but, wanted it also on a DVD.This movie is a very up lifting true story where the underdogs win. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

dvd is for gift -person getting doesn't mind used dvd's this one however has a lot of scratches on it which is the first i have had like this after buying a number of them previously. good movie and he will enjoy it. price was right

This has to be one of my favorite movies all time. It's a really great story. Denzel Washington and Will Patton were the right guys for this movie. "You make sure they remember, forever, the night they played the Titans."

I have always loved this movie and I had it on VHS and wore it out. This was a good deal for the dvd and I decided to go ahead and get it. Have watched it many times.
