The Regime by Jerry B. Jenkins (Book-Left Behind Series

This is Book 14 in the series, Left Behind. It works primarily on the same basis as "The last is first" theory, in that, it goes back to the beginning of the story also....it continues on (the Rising is Book 13) with the story after the Antichrist is born with what happens next which leads up to the "Rapture". So in a way, these books PRECEDE the story of Left Behind....but after you read the first 12 books, it becomes clear why the authors left these three books until last. It's hard to explain, but it's kind of like "Star Wars"...you kind of have to experience it before it makes sense. I'm really glad I am reading these, and that I have come this far. It is an experience I have treasured in my life, and I think, a real accomplishment. They have kept me on the edge of my seat, and I find them fast moving and very exciting. I have loved them all.

The Regime. 2nd great book to a prequel series..

The Regime is the second book in the prequel books of the popular Left Behind series. Having read all the books prior to the prequel, this book provides an excellent back story to all the characters and explains the resistance of receiving God and accepting Jesus. For those who haven't read the original seies, read all 14 books of the Left Behind series before picking up the prequels. Just like Star Wars, its better to know the conclusion before delving into the beginning.

I have read every book thus far in the "left behind" series and dont mind buying a gently used book rather than spending more money on a full priced new version.

This book delves into the events that happened before the believers disapeared and gives more insight to nicolae carpanthia.

Highly recommend this series

  Great Prequel

Prequel to Left Behind Series. Nicolae rises to power and develops his captivating public persona. Fortunato enters his life and tutors him on "showing" humility. We discover just how far both will go to “succeed”. Nicolae shows no emotion when an aide is killed. He enters into shady business deals and does anything, even murder, to "win". Irene grows in the Lord and is having trouble converting her husband, Raymond and daughter. Chloe rebels against going to church and makes a deal with her mother to not attend. Both her and her young son Raymie struggle to share the Lord with their father (husband) and sister (daughter). Irene becomes convinced she can win her husband and daughter to the Lord by changing her behavior. This is a biblical concept when yoked to an unbeliever. Raymond pursues his carrier and avoids his wife. Irene wants to move her church to a Bible believing one, New Hope but Rafe objects. Meanwhile Raymond meets a person who will have a big influence on his life, Abdullah. With him he takes up black market goods to supplement his income. Abdullah's wife tells him about a lady she meets in the market place and is converting to Christianity. Abdullah blames himself, as he had not been devout in his prayers and attending the mosque. A brilliant young journalism student, Cameron, gets the chance of a lifetime and quickly moves to his goal to work at the Global Weekly. His mother has cancer and is dying and he uses any means possible to try to get to her before she dies. We learn where he got his nickname “Buck” by bucking the system to jockey into the best stories. The book ends with the attack of Israel by Russia and her allies. I really enjoyed getting to know the development of the Left Behind series people. I strongly recommend this book to people who like "life experiences" novels and drama.

I am exceptionally greatful for The Countdown to the Rapture books. They have answered those little question left after reading the original series of Left Behind. Wonderful book!!!

  The Rapture

It was a perfect prequel to the rest of the books, they made more sense. It went more into the lives of the charters. Once I started reading it or any of these books I couldn't put them down, I think I read this one in two days. If you haven't read this one or any of them I recommend them highly. GREAT BOOKS!

i love the series of the left behind. the series had changed my live- if anyone has a doubt about god and his wonders, i recommend to read it. i even have the kids series that brought a new understanding about children and their feels about what could happen in those days to come. my granddaughter is reading also. we have no generation gap here. she and i both get it and what will come one way or the other. it gave us something to talk about that is a lot better than what most kids are in these days. very affordable Thur e-bay since you pay at least $25.00 per book at a book store or their writers. thanks for this opportunity to write a review.

I absolutely love this book. I previously bought the entire collection out so far and so I had to have the three (four) new books that make up the prequel and final moments. It's a great book - continuing in the suspense-filled pattern. No negatives whatsoever.

  The Regime...
Review created: 01/03/07

I have been following this series since the beginning. The regime is book 2 of the 4 part series, and explains about before they were left behind. It talks about the characters as they grew up to the important role they play. This series really helped me realize what it could be like and how important it is to be a good christian...

The title was descriptive of how Nicolae came to power.
Review created: 11/06/06
by:

I really enjoyed this book. The basis for the book is how all the main players came to where they were when the series opens with Left Behind. This book tells how Nicolae came to power, where he got his money and about how Leon was a kingmaker and just wanted to push hime forward. All the players on that side knew exactly who Nicolae was and that they were grooming him to take over the world during his whole life. I would definately recommend starting with the 3 prequals before reading the Left Behind series or going back to read them if you have already read the others.

I have read all of the Left Behind series and wish Mr. Lahaye had written these first, because they really helped to understand the characters in the first 12 books. I think all his books are really interesting reading and are scripturally accurate. I enjoyed reading all these books.

Another must read from the dynamic duo of End of Days writers. This one is great also. Loved this one too. The adventure and the edge of your seat writing is excellent. This one keeps you interested (like the others) and you can't put it down. Loved it. Loved the series.
