I read this book after I overheard 2 friends of mine raving about it. I borrowed the copy that was circulating around and it took me a day and half to finish - I could not put it down!! I am a Christian and had never read the book of Hosea. Redeeming Love is based off that story (which I recommend reading as well) which is about God's unconditional, absolute love. After all, if God asked you to marry a prostitute would you believe He was actually asking that? Would you obey? Could you? Would you be able to endure all the trials that come with the emotional baggage of one so hurt and broken? The story tells us that all things are possible when God is in them.
I could never give this book a review worthy of what it deserves, but after reading Redeeming Love, it is my all time favorite book. Read it for yourself and I am sure you will agree. Share it with others, it is truly eye-opening and inspirational!!

Hands down - this the best book I have ever read. I read it several years ago and have read MANY books since, but I always go back to this being the favorite. You will NOT be disappointed!!!

I had a friend tell me about this book. I was going through a tough time and decided to buy it to get my mind off of some of the challenges. Oh my gosh! It's based on the book of Hosea in the Bible, but takes place in the 1800's. I could not put it down! I read it in just 3 days, and felt so satisfied. The characters have depth. Your heart grows compassionate. God's love is so revealed. It is absolutely amazing! I've already lent it to 3 other friends, and they all agree...This book is a must! It is pretty intense, and even states that if it had a rating it would be PG-13. But, it's not far from reality, and the harshness life can bring, but also, the grace reaching of God.

This book is wonderful! The ladies in my church circle read this and then discussed it at one of our monthly meetings. It touched all of us and everyone agreed it was a fast-read; very hard to put down!

I saw this book in a bookstore and just knew i had to read it. My friends had referred this author to me before so I was familiar with the name. I can see why so many people love to read Francine Rivers. She took a touchy subject and described it so carefully and beautifully. The story of Hosea is often taken out of context and she did an excellent job transferring feelings and circumstances into more modern day settings. This story really clicked with me and I am looking forward to reading more in her series. It is quite lengthy and although I didn't want to put it down, 500 pages is quite a lot to bite off. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did!

This is a wonderful book with lots of love and great morals. I would recommend this book to anyone that loves to read and loves that God works in such mysterious ways. This book is based off of the book of Hosea in the Old Testiment of the Bible and is nothing short of GREAT! Caution: Once you get into the book you wont want to put it down!

I love the way this book is written. The author absolutely takes command of the page and won't let you stop reading. When you read this book you are heading uphill on a scenic route, on a road with soft shoulders and no place to stop until you reach the top. Then, when you do, you find the sight before you to be breathtaking and you forget what it was you meant to do, so you pick the book up and begin to read again.
This is a love story which depicts one man's perfect love for a woman who is not deserving of such passionate compassion, as well as, a reflection of God's neverending love for His bride (the church).
If you enjoy the Bible's tales of how God relentlessly pursues those who belong to Him, you will be completely absorbed by "Redeeming Love."

francine caption her reader attention and keeps it throughout this book. it a wonderful and thrilling book and it reminds in each page about God's talking to us and if we listens. i will be reading more of francine rivers books. she is a fantastic writer and you can feel God's hand in her work.

My cousins had told me about this book and said I would have to get it. I found it on eBay and purchased it. I read the entire book in one day. It was not only well written but it was believable and you could feel the characters frustration. I think it could even be used as a tool to help people understand the unconditional love of Jesus. I highly recommend this book.

I had actually read redeeming love before I bought it. AFter reading it once I knew I HAD to own this book so that I coudl read it again and again. It is well written and deals with soem very delicate subjects quite tactfully. I would not recommend this book for young women under the age of 15 or so becuase of the issues it deals with. This book is an awesome reminder og God's love for us regardless of our past or who we may think we are.

This is an excellent story set in a different era, the 1800's. It is based on the Biblical story of Hosea's love for Gomer, a prostitute. However, it is still appropriate for even more modern times because true and undying love as Michael had for "Angel" is never limited to a certain time or era, it's for all times. However, the love Hosea had for Gomer and the love Michael had for Angel is a much deeper, disciplined and honoring love that can only come from an acceptance and commitment to Christ. Angel had never experienced what true love really was. She had only experienced "lustful" passion, which trys to imitate love. That's why Michael was so patient with her so she would come to know the true and only love everyone needs to know, the love of Jesus Christ.
For anyone trying to decide whether to read this book or not, read it! It's an excellent story, but I do think it's more of a woman's book. I will be reading more of Francine Rivers novels because they have good content, they are well written and have a very good message.
