I got hooked on the Red Hat books by Haywood Smith, although not a Red Hatter myself, I love the friendship they all share. When this cookbook came out I had it on my "to buy" list, but my wonderful sister beat me to the punch and surprised me with it as a gift! As the cookbook says..."The Red Hat Society is a disorganization with "ladies who lunch" and are ready to enjoy leisurely times with like-minded friends." I think that says a lot about these group of women, just like the wonderful fiction books by Smith. The recipes are all from the ladies and I love that they start the cookbook with dessert! Just skimming over the pages makes you hungry. Some of the recipes are twist on old favorites but there are some I haven't seen before and can't wait to try. First on the list will be the Apricot Cream Cheese Pound Cake. The middle of the book has plenty of color photos of ladies from their Red Hat Society groups. All look like they are having a blast! Even if you aren't a Red Hatter, like me, this cookbook is worth the money, not only to have some down-home recipes and great pics but also some short stories scattered about that will make you smile.

I love this cookbook. It's brand new... but I strikes me as a cookbook of the new and old recipes. Just think, the ladies contributing recipes are giving recipes that have been in their familie for a long time! So you'll be getting very good ones!

I love the recipes and the little stories within the cookbook. I got the softcover cookbook, but there is a hardback one also.It is neatly writen and easy to read and recipes come from true red hat members. Check and see if you know anyone inside the book.

This was a birthday present for my Mom, who is a Red Hatter. She was very thrilled about getting it. This book has some really great recipes in it. We are looking forward to trying many of them out. I would definately recommend it to anyone.

one of my favorite cookbooksI bought this cookbook because a friend of mine had it and I liked it. You cant go wrong with a cookbook filled with peoples' favorite recipes. This cookbook is full of fantastic recipes from appetizers to desserts and oh what desserts! Anyway redhatters have been around a while and seem to have the BEST recipes! Trust me you will like it.

I already had the Desserts First Cookbook by the Red Hat Society. It has provided some of my best recipes for catering and entertaining. I was thrilled to get not only dessert recipes but recipes for all occasions. The first few I have tried have been exceptional. I really appreciate the fact that most recipes don't call for unusual or expensive items to prepare them. These are great recipes for everyday use or special occasions. Thrilled to add this to my cookbook collection and figure it will become one of my favorites! Enjoy!

I purchased this cookbook on the recommendation of a friend. I went right to ebay to search for a good deal and found one quickly. This book has a lot of recipes that are not only very good, but also fast and easy to prepare. You can tell that they were submitted by ladies who have many years of experience. I immediately began cooking from this cookbook as soon as I received it and it quickly became one of my favorite. I have already recommended it to others.

I have had this book for quite a while now. It is wonderful. I haven't tried a recipe that I didn't love. It is filled with the Red Hatters favorite recipes. I recently made the The Spanish Pineapple cake. It was the easiest cake ever. Just dump everything in one bowl and mix. The frosting is the same. And get this, you frost the cake while it's hot. Delicious. I have made so many of the recipes. Too many to name. I am buying another book as a gift for my girlfriend. I think this would also be great for a wedding shower gift. Any age would love it.

I love that it has Great down-to-earth recipes by cooks like myself, made in their own kitchens, not from a sterile test kitchen. The little stories and humor make it great to just sit and read for entertainment. The Red Hat Society seems like a fun organization where women can share stories, life experiences, cooking experiences, have a few laughs and make good friends.

Head to the store for the yummy ingredients.....Every Red Hatter needs this cookbook.....& so does everyone else that would enjoy an all around fun cookbook with lots of desserts...you know, "eat desserts first" in life understanding for all who love sweets. But, it has all kinds of other favorite recipes that were submitted for this book. You won't be sorry you bought this book.

This is a fun filled cookbook with stories of women who have turned 50 and have grouped together for fun, laughs and social events. It has excelllent recipes and I would highly recomend it to all women 40 years and older.

Being members of the Red Hat Society, I purchased the cookbook as a Christmas gift for a dear friend of mine. There were several reasons I decided to buy online from ebay. I saved a considerable amount of money even with having to pay postage and the ease of shopping is another reason. Living in the northern part of the United States, it can get pretty cold and snowy about this time of the year. Shopping from the comfort of my cozy, warm home beats driving 50 plus miles to the nearest city that has a mall or a bookstore.
